Really? How far are those cities from Dubai? If you can see the mighty structure from there, can you please take a few pictures from these locations when you get the time to travel to these places. That would be i'm sure an amazing sight for the whole ssc community to see. thanks in advance

Does anybody know exactly how much floor space the very top floor will have and what it will be used for?
Also will there be any elevators that go to the very top floor or will it be stairs??

Yes, but only a little bit. We can't see a steel-floor yet...

Not yet, but steel has started. It will go faster when they build one or 2 floors I think.

This morning I could see that three vertical steel sections were joined together by horizontal beams, creating a partial layout of the first steel floor, that I may say, seamed much taller then the concrete one beneath by at least 50%.

I don't know if anyone noticed but if you count the cranes on top, the Burj Dubai is now the tallest man-made structure ever. Think about that - those crane operators are sitting higher than any human has ever sat - apart from planes of course.

Sharjah is actually adjacent to Dubai and Ajman is very close to Sharjah (on the other side). Since Dubai is very spread out along the coast, there might be places in Dubai further away from Burj Dubai then some parts of Ajman are.

Very nice ZZ-II. I love the picture with the haze in the evening or is that morning. The shot looks east/northeast right?

The first steel has been measured as 8.3m above the highest concrete which I find strange as the first steel floor is supposed to be 6m in height. The final approved blueprints that I have were finished and pre-assembly steel construction started 4 months ago so I'm a bit confused now. I'm thinking maybe the horizontal transoms will be attached below the uppermost steel sections, maybe as a fixing point for the next mullion beams and diagonal trusses. I guess we'll just have to wait and find out?

I've been told my floor (L59) will start receiving it's curtain walling in about 2 weeks....which will make a nice Christmas present!

^really?
lev155 was only 3.2m high, also lev155mez was just 3.2m.
lev156 will be double that height at 6.4m as will lev157. then lev158 & lev158mez will be back to 3.2m high.

in my diagram ive just rounded figures

The highest floor which elevators go up to is Lev 162 according to Culwulla's plans. Lev 163 to the Pinnacle will only be accessible by stairs.
