Just a cladding panel here and there left to go from that angle. It looks like a half dozen or so panels have no glass and have been boarded. I wonder if the missing and boarded panels have been damaged along the way and they are needing replacements. The cleaned panels are looking good.

It also looks like another section of the lake is almost ready to be filled.

The structure and entire area are really looking fantastic. The dream is nearly fulfilled.

thanks Fury

What do you think, when will be moving the Burj Dubai to the completed section ?

1. structure done , no crane , no scaffolcing etc.. ?
2. after the soft opening ?
3. on handover of the whole tower ?

That's a add for a TV Station (MBC Max) that shows Arabic drama series and it seams those (the series) are big business during Ramadan.

Hi Imre.

That is an interesting question.

I would like to see a real completed section of this forum. Nothing against the ROT section - it has its use and it is a good one as Rate Our Talls. I just don't think it should also be our completed section.

That being said - the powers to be will move it when they feel the time is right but my vote is your third choice. That is when it would make the most sense - when it is actually completed. Thing is Emaar may put on all the hoopla on Dec. 02 as if it is fully completed. If that is the case the general public will think it is completed but we will know better. The problem is we may never know when it is fully completed. For that we will have to rely on you and others in Dubai to talk to the people you know that are involved with the project to give us some approximate date.

Now with that being said - perhaps your second choice would be better as we will know when the soft opening happens for sure.

As I said earlier I would hope there is an actual completed section by then. Oh and I would also hope for a new thread too.

Random reflections: The one on the left looks like a mans face looking out the window and the one on the right looks like an alien face

No, its not a real expansion of the lake. The lake is still under construction. Only the part with the fountain is complete. This part (in imres photo) of the lake is the part behind the Burj Dubai Park Island, which make the planned part to an real island.

Just have a look at the post from joed (August 2009):

Why Didn't They Wait?

Seeing those shots of a new lake section all nice and new and CLEAN it really makes me wonder why they went ahead and filled up that first section of the lake before they got the filtration mojo all ramped-up and working...I mean why didn't they wait until ALL the lake sections where completed before sticking the garden hose in there and filling them up? It would have avoid the sandy dirty cesspool effect we have seen these past few months...assuming that the mombo filtration and water circulation system we have been hearing about actually works.

Maybe the business deal with their fountain vendor was such that they have to provide water by a certain date for contractual reasons.
