No. It's from the movie Star Wars photoshopped into the sky.
Go rent it. Ignore Episodes 1-3 though. : P

Never seen Star Wars? Now back to the topic.
Some inside shots must be very near. If the hotel will open in December, then you would think they would advertise and have a nice photo gallery! |

Hi all.

The observation deck (level 124) terrace faces approx. 60 degrees or the Dubai Mall - and the Office annex. Here is a labelled shot and print to illistrate. Click for larger. ![]() ![]() Almost all prints are from the same perspective. SZR runs parallel to the top. The terrace is on the right. From the railing one will get a good view of the scrapers on SZR. From the side one will be able to see the sea. Since the deck is an entire level one will be able to see all the way around the structure albeit not from out on the terrace. So Imre has it - word is cladding completed Oct 5 or 6 - kewl. I don't know what the point is to remove a panel and replace it as the last one but it is what it is - it will be neat to see this thing fully clad.

Burj Dubai exterior now complete
The exterior cladding of the Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building, is now complete, its developer revealed on Thursday. The building, currently measuring over 800 metres, has accomplished a new world record for the highest installation of an aluminium and glass façade, Emaar Properties said in a statement. A total of 24,348 pieces of cladding were fitted to the tower, located in Downtown Dubai, with the first piece fixed in May 2007. The total weight of the aluminium cladding is equivalent to that of five A380 airplanes, while the glass used will cover 14 standard football pitches, the firm said. “Burj Dubai’s construction and engineering techniques are unprecedented, and they are our contribution to the science of high-rise development,” said Mohamed Alabbar, Emaar Properties chairman. “The cladding work has involved considerable innovation – vast amounts of research and simulation have pioneered advanced materials and installation techniques.” Keeping the tower façade clean will be the next engineering challenge. To do this 18 window-washing units have been built into the tower each with an extendable arm for cleaning that reaches more than 20 metres, the firm said. Burj facts The total weight of aluminum cladding is equivalent to the weight of five A380 Airbus aircraft. More than 11 tonnes of nuts and bolts have gone into the cladding, equivalent to the weight of six BMW cars. More than 48,180 gallons of silicone have been used in cladding. The total glass used can cover 14 standard football pitches. The total length of stainless steel used is equivalent to the area of 34 NBA basketball courts. The total length of the gaskets if laid end-to-end is equivalent to the distance from Dubai to Damascus. A total of 2,074 truck deliveries were undertaken to take the panels from the factory to the Burj Dubai site – the distance is equal going round the earth once, or trekking the Great Wall of China six times. http://www.arabianbusiness.com/56911...erior-complete |

How much do you think they will charge for ''On The Top'' - they are still working on the LG entrance at Dubai Mall, probably be ticketing stations there, then the walk way to the Burj.
is it 1 lift from LG straight up to 124th floor? - that's got to be some sort of record? plus it must be a 20-30 passenger capacity lift for all tourists to the 124th?
