Burj Dubai quasi fully cladded... I've been waiting for these pics for years, and the giant is as beautiful and thrilling as expected.

If cranes got consciousness, this one would really feel proud up there now, and later he'd tell his grandchildren about the good ole days in 2009 :-D

In the first pic, the last crane looks so tiny and far from the top, as if the base was just twenty floors away (at first sight)... but it's still level 99, much more than most buildings have got!

Questions for Fury -or anyone else who knows answer

re Pools - Emaar documents say there are 4. One is on top of the Spa building at the south end of the complex, and one is on the 78th floor (or so at the bottom of the Lux. residences).

I have not seen where the others are - are they indoors ?

re Construction lifts - Emaar documents said there were 14. I have seen 11.
All are now gone - there were 8, in two groupds of 4 at the core of the tower, running from Ground up to level 112 or so.
There were two going from L112 up to L160, and one - the world's highest construction lift from L159 up to Tier 21.

I have not seen the others - were they on the annex building, or somewhere else inside ?

re Crane - did they say when the last crane will disappear ?

Thank you

The crane may not have the emotions but the crane operator surely does!

I don't know how you do it. I am amazed at how many photos you take everyday. I cringe having to resize and post say 25-30 photos a day when I update my website [for my business].

So exactly how do you have time for all this? I guessed this may be your business somehow....what a neat business it is if that's the case!

Resizing photos should only take a minute or less...you can also get programs to automatically resize the photos.

Yep....fully aware of that. But he takes hundreds a day. And if any of them need contrast or brightness adjustment...then you have the file naming and copyrighting. Then you have uploading to sites and posting.....can you get programs to do all that?

Funny how there's still a few missing Panes of Glass here and there. Thought glass was completed.

You can get a program to do all the editing for you, based on rules you define (usually called a macro or actions)...Then you just upload them all at once with an FTP program such as FlashFXP.

I know this as well, I use Cute ftp quite often...you're completely missing my point. For most of us, what Imre does represents an incredible amount of work and dedication.

I know how long it takes to go through the motions I described above and I might even be leaving a step or two out. I maintain my business website daily and I have hundreds of photos on it.

Imre has tens of thousands of photos and posts on at least two different forums. My question wasn't how to do the simple stuff, it was directed solely at him and how he has the time to bring us all these fantastic pictures and updates....remember, he is posting too and not just pics, but descriptive text as well.

Hi Library.

I'm not sure where all the pools are.

The other construction lifts you are missing are the jump lifts. They were used as the initial lifts and then at various levels and at various times when a lift was needed to "jump" between 2 other lifts (when the top level of one lift was a few levels below the first level of another). Also they were used as the highest lift at various times throuout the concrete construction.

Hi Imre - yet another great update. Yes the crane currently at level 99 (R1 - Favco 242R) is the only crane we see right now but that will change shortly. The small crane that was at level 159 (R3 - Favco SDD 5/10) that lowered R1 to level 99 ( on 09 09 23/24) has been manually disassembled and either taken down to level 99 in an elevator or lowered down with a BMU. We will see it appear beside R1. It will then lower the disassembled pieces of the larger crane to the podium.

At that point R3 will be the only crane we see and the last crane on the BD. It will then disappear by manual disassembly for its last elevator ride down to the podium. That will complete the crane disassembly proceedure and will mark another milestone for this magnificent structure.
