in the first post you can be shure that Almada is a nice city. not fake like Dubai
You have the right to call Dubai fake, but why do it in the Burj Dubai thread? Go and open a thread in the UAE section if you like.

They probably gave them a geography test and the ones with the lowest score is cast. Hey that makes good tv.

What makes a city ugly or beautiful?
If architecture, then dubai is very modern and very nice.
If infrastructure, Dubai is still under construction. In a few years Dubai will have modern infrastructure.
If people, then Dubai is very nice. Emiratis are very friendly.

I never heard about Almada or its architecture or infrastructure or its people.

There's no such thing as a "fake" city, except sets at movie studios. Cities have different planning styles, and different types of people. Dubai is just as real as London or Tokyo or Miami, it's just different.

I can't wait to see the landscaping around BD completed! It'll be such a nice change from all the years of dirt!

Fury, were you able to determine within which month the episode was filmed by looking at the status of the Burj Dubai?

Hi all.

I see the cladding is still not complete. There are still a few panels that are boarded although from recent shots it does look like all the panels are in place. The office annex is still missing a few panels also. I won't be adding the cladding completed to my milestone timetable just yet.

One thing that is added to my milestone timetable as of today is the completion of the crane disassembly proceedure.
Yet another great milestone achieved in this project.

Here is a cranes timetable I've had on the go for a few years now - finally completed.

EDIT.
Lover the episode was filmed in late Feb or in March '09

why is that ignorance? it simply says municipality of Almada, and I was not trying to show your city as ugly, simply that it is just a normal city somewhere in a normal land, so why are you wasting your time on this thread? No one of us here gives a sh++t about what you think is ugly or not, this is simply not the place for your pittyful jelousy. rest my case obrigado

----

in the video of the fountains recently one could hear big bangs when the water got shot up, is that just some soundeffects or do they (nozzles) actually create that sound?

Is not a sound effect, the water is pushed up very fast displacing the air around which creates the sound we hear. Something like the sonic boom.

Of course the water is desalinated, the tap water I mean. Also the water used for the fountain cannot be salted, salt is highly corrosive and leaves residues.
