So it looks like the bridge from the Residences to the BD Park is already complete?

Altin, could you take again pictures from your appartment of the Burj Dubai, like you did in the past? Would be nice to compare how the SZR has changed in the periods between you took the pictures. Thanks in advance.

The access door to the roof is locked now, but if I happen to find it un-locked I will try again.

Last time it was February 2009 I think.

Dubai almost looks dense in that video.

I really don't care for what the city is today, but it could definitely be a world player in the future.

Hi guys

After quite some time I made it to BD with my camera again. I actually wanted to take some HDR pics of the fountain and the tower being equally illuminated. Which is not easy... my software could not layer the images the way I wanted it to. But these pics I'm quite happy with

How are the BMU's controlled - how, where, etc

The BMU's for the lower levels are robust indeed. I remember seeing the shots from a year or so ago when one was in its home and wondering how the thing would extend out from the structure - so clear now to see it in action.

So they will refer to the window cleaners for the upper structure sans BMU's as abseilers. I was referring to them as such but stopped being abseiling refers to repelling down only. Thinking about it now that is probably exactly what they will do. They will abseil - cleaning as they descend and finish on a lower terrace. They most likely won't ever ascend the lines - just pull the lines up after the abseilers are off them.

The BMU's don't just come out in the middle of the night and prowl along the rails - they must be controlled from somewhere- and by someone who has to be able to see what they are doing. We have seen them lifting and lowering machine parts, acting like cranes at times, and carrying baskets with workers.

Are they controlled from a remote site, visible on cameras, or controlled locally when a basket with workers is on board - or both situations ?

Is there a central control room, or one separate for each unit ??

Who knows something on this ? Comments ??

Thank you

All of Desert Diver's new most cool night shots still show that many many floors still don't appear to have any action as far as interior work...or they just pull the plug at night - but in most buildings you see even bare bulb work lights on at night scattered around. That still seems odd with supposedly this big push on to meet the 'soft opening' deadline. I guess all the round the clock work is focused on the hotel?
Thought anyone?
