Simply incredible. Thankfully I love the design too so size and beauty.

Cant wait to see the base when the artificial lake is finished. It a great idea that should frame the building beatifully - particularly at night with the reflections. So many tall buildings seem to run out of ideas at street level and end up sitting in windswept no mand land. This looks to have avoided that with some great design.

Man have I got to come and see this when it is finished!

Burj Dubai is now 574.5 meters tall at level 154, it is 65 m ahead of Taipei 101 and 21 m ahead of CN Tower.

a level = 3 days of work... now 19 oct.

11 days further= almost 4 stories
almost 4 stories= +/-12m

One level now take almost a week to complete, and 4 stories at current stages = 19.2m, not +/- 12m

Current height is still L155 at 579.3m

Total Reality

Totally breathtaking!!!!!!!!!! The New Empire State!!. But nothing could replace the original. You'd have to take that up with KONG himself.

Amazing photos. Does anyone know when the wings on the side in the photo will catch up with the top?

OK, now that I've seen enough "great update" posts I think it's time to stop for now. I'm sure Imre knows his pictures are appreciated even if he doesn't have pages and pages worth of "great updates" every time he posts.

malec, I'm sorry to be another complainer in a long line of many (inlcuding yourself), but I think it's pretty lame that people complain about nearly every type of post that's made.

If people want to give other people props for their contributions to the thread, they should be allowed to.

Honestly, how much actual new information is posted to the thread about the Burj and its construction? Without it, the last thread would have been 50 pages. As lame as it sounds, this is the silliness that transpires in an online community and with 7200 posts, I'm surprised you don't realize that.

Just let people express their enthusiasm. This is an important building in an important period of structural engineering history and we should let people celebrate it as much as they want, even if it means posting pictures of stuffed animals in front of buildings or dressing up in banana suits and dancing

I agree with Malec, and I'm sure the other mods would agree. No need for a constant stream of comments like "Awesome!", "Cool!", "OMG!!!!!111" etc... People should limit these type of posts, otherwise it makes the thread boring and frustrating to read.

Is it possible that they've installed all of the glass that they got in that shipment a while back? I haven't seen any progress on the cladding in a while.

Sorry if this has already been covered; I haven't checked in in a while.
