Hi all.

Hey guys the decking will be in many places.

Here is a shot showing it on the same terrace as my post above - level 3 terrace - first level of base 1 (top or roof of base 0) of the wing facing the office annex. Also it can be seen on the top of the office entrance. Also on level 26 terrace - first level of tier 2.

Here we see it on level 3 terrace on the wing facing the pool annex. Also on the top of the pool annex penthouse.

Here we see it on level 3 terrace on the wing facing SZR. It looks like there is some on level 5 terrace - start of base 2, hard to tell if they will cover it all from this shot. Also it can be seen on the top of the residence entrance. Also it can be seen on level 19 terrace - start of tier 1.

It is hard to tell if the brown on top of the entrances is decking but it kinda looks like it. The other areas are almost certainly decking. I'm thinking the same decking may be on all the terraces right up to tier 15 but I haven't seen pics showing this - yet.

Hi Antovator.

Absolutely - 448.1 m. after the official measurement.
Remember this measurement may take place after the soft opening in Jan but if the have to have the thing fully open it may not be untill much later into 2010.
Untill then 442.1 in my books.

Imre Question - Jacking Equipment?

Imre...
When you were wandering around up in the pinnacle did you see any of the spire jacking equipment?

There has remained some speculation on the board here that during the grand opening events they might pull some stunt and jack up the spire more.

From all I see in your very cool interior shots up on top it looks like that mombo spire pipe is totally bolted and welded into final position and not going anywhere.

I would think those shots should put to bed once and for all any fantasies about a final height increase while the fireworks are going off, but from where you went and what you saw, did it look like all the jacking gear has been completely removed? I can't imagine they would abandon that in place.

ALSO - add me to the list of folks that are interested in just how they are energizing the BMUs when they are hanging out on those curvy pipes.

Anyway I still plug for his favourite number

I didnt see there.

I think the jacking is done , but I can imagine another "light spire" from the top , maybe with the UAE flag or similar.

Emaar playing with us about the final heights but the CTBUH done a great job with this new height criteria

Emaar Chairman's favourite number is the 888 still need a huge flag pole for it or the favourite number has been changed ?!

How complete is the landscaping around the base of the BD ? It looks cleaner than before, but no greenery is showing yet

Comments ?

Thank you
These blue areas are terraces covered with protective plastic sheet. It is covered to avoid the damages.

One of your pics included a diagram on the wall that looked like it had the different jacking stages all ticked off.

Beautiful picture.
In this picture, I assume sea is on the left side.
The water surrounding the BD is the Dubai creek?
The right side is the desert (which is North of the sea shore)?
Which way is the rest of the city?

Yes, the sea is to the left (facing North West)

Yes, that is the Dubai Creek extension.

The desert/blank area you are looking at is south of Dubai City.

The rest of the city is to the left (but not extended to the sea obviously).

If you look at a satellite picture, you will see where what I mean.

Come on man. The BMU should have battery and generator in it as secondary power sources.
You don't depend on a green line on a spool when you are 800 meters up in the sky.
