1.- AWESOME VIEW! the tallest building in all the f*****g world!

2.- The Burj Dubai and the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi are the best constructions that UAE has delivered to the world in this year!

3.- Someone has photos of the panoramic of Dubai watching from the last floor of the Burj Dubai?

Congrats UAE!

Is this the final top ?

I hope the CTBUH does measure and I hope Emaar puts up a flagpole, lightning rod, or antenae to push this height up even further.

If Emaar added a flagpole, or whatever, would they not need new lights at the very top, just as the existing aircraft lights are at the top ?? It would not be so easy to do.

On the other hand, this could be a revenge against the guy who posted unauthorized video from the top - as that would not be from the final top any more. We shall see---;

Anyone know anything ??

Thank you

Mezz levels as floors by CTBUH ??

Whether the mezzanines will be included is a question mark. Level 154 will be included surely as it covers the entire area of the level below . Also it is named as a seperate level and only its use is shown as a mezzanine in the plans. Now 158M, 160M1, 160M2,and 160M3 are another matter on 2 fronts.
1 - These are mechanical mezzanines and do have a smaller floorprint than the level below. It will be up to the CTBUH to decide if the difference in size warrants including them.
2 - By looking at the wording there may be some room to include levels and/or mezzanines above level 154 in the official count. Level 154 is the highest level occupied by tennants but the wording includes occupied by workers on a consistant basis. This may allow levels up to 160M3 to be included in the official count and in the height to the highest occupied level measure.
The plans levels count of 162 already allows for the 4 skipped levels, includes the 6 mezz. levels (which it should IMO), and does not include the concourse.

The official count could be anywhere from 158 to 163.
The height to the highest occupied level could be anywhere from level 154 - 580.5 meters to level 160M3 - 630.1 meters (from the concourse and assuming they measure up to the floor of those levels which they probably do). I kinda doubt all of the mezzanines will be considered as occupied on a consistant basis but that remains to be seen.

The plan posted some time ago showed the BO4/5/6 lifts going up to 154. This seems to be a very private space, but it is for people - important people.

The motors for the BO4/5/6 lifts were shown on 155Mezz, on Cul's diagrams, but--the video of BS3 does not show a stop for 155M or 158M. If those lift motors ever needed to be replaced, how would they get that done at 155M, if no lift access is available to move machines in or out - whereas, a lift is available for all other levels in the building that have elevator motors on them. This includes the Pega BS4 that can stop at the floor containing the motor for BS3.

Question is--just what is on these mezz levels that needs easy access, and what percentage of the main floor area below does the mezz cover ??

Would it be over 50%, or does it just cover a small area over the outside perimeter of the principal level. How about 160 M1/2/3 which make the entire level 160 group look like a high open atrium in pictures ??

I would think that the usage of the mezz levels, and whether they have lift access --as well as floor area -- would all factor into the CTBUH decisions on whether to count them as floors.

Comments ??

Thank you

Do we have the decimal place in the title because of the current dispute? We don't have one for other buildings. If you're going by feet, 2704ft is very close to 824m and i'd say that's precise enough for a building that size

p.s. The new lighting is just awesome.

Hi Library.

There probably won't be any addition at the top - it was just a thought. Perhaps a small flashing light on the top of any addition would suffice and leave the 3 big beacons where they are ? - naaa, probably not ...

Levels 153 and 154 are reportedly for the Emaar chairman.

There looks to be machine rooms for three elevators on level 156 by the small drawing I have. I have nothing on 155 and 155 mezz

Here is 158 mezz. I have highlighted the floor area. It looks like access is by ladder only and that the stairwell and BS3 don't access it at all.

Here is 160mezz1. Only an opening in the middle - 40 % ?

Here is 160mezz2.

It kinda looks like 160 mezz3 is be the entire floorplate of tier 18 so that may be a good thing for calling it the highest occupied level.

I agree with you on the thoughts on the CTBUH decision on the highest level measure and number of levels. Size alone and consistant occupancy may not be the only factors.

Is it just me who thinks that this is an awe inspiring building, but something that just looks utterly ridiculous?

The height, now finished and when in direct comparison to other "supertalls" surrounding it just seems ludicrous! Reminds me a bit of Taipei 101 in it's surroundings, just wrong...

I don't know, it just doesn't look right. That said, maybe once some of the other projects are completed at the 500m+ range, it'll start to fit in better.

is it possible for this thread to be divided into several threads ? it is so huge its impossible to find what youre looking for .

like a bluprint / section plan section , a interior pic section , an exterior pic sectionj and so on .. ?
