well, I knew for long that Dubai will never be a city that works, I said it right in the beginning, and I am proven right too now! ...

New York is a city that works, not Dubai!

A future ghost town? ... ask the average European here today and they will all laugh at Dubai!

Isn't it funny how when Dubai shows some sure signs that there is a recession and it's not imune how people come out of the woodwork to say "I told you so" or just "haha".
From some of the posts I am getting the picture most don't have a fricken clue ... - stupid bastards ...
Then when they are told the Burj Dubai WILL be completed they come out with "It will be empty for years" - stupid bastards ...

Back OT.

Hi all. (except for the stupid bastards of course ... )

Great shots guys.
The landscaping is looking better every day.
The pool on the roof of the pool annex is half tiled now.
The lowest terraces of the wing facing the pool annex are all boarded and looking near done.
The office annex looks cladded and the roofing system is moving right along.
I see there are still a few spots up high that need glazing yet.
I'm still wondering what the large building is on podium zone A (in front of the office entrance) near the office annex. It's definately much more than a landscaping feature.

I think its just a manipulation , created a news about the Dubai World was a great strategy , what do you think how much did they on the stock markets yesterday? Probably now they are just laughing on the whole world

I was hoping you'd show us that, Imre. People seem to forget that Dubai has actual inhabitants, just like every other city on earth.

Lake Cleaning Action?

Have any of you guys there on site seen any sign yet of those large Zamboni-type bottom cleaners we heard were under development to clean sediment out of the lake and a more heavy duty filtration system? It all still looks like crap and the last I recall it being discussed here there was some sort of industrial strength solution in the works....haven't seen images of those poor guys floatin' around with those swimming pool sized sand filters on rafts lately.

They have remote computer controlled vacuums now. There's a camera on the end of the vacuum bit underwater that's monitored either from a boat, or on land near by.

You can see one in this pic:
