Does anyone have that chart with the schedule of when each floor will be completed?

I would love to watch a severe thunderstorm from the 162 and higher floors of Burj Dubai. Being lost in the clouds with lightning and heavy rain would look really interesting.

The actual final height is STILL a secret. The 808 and 818 heights are working figures for the plans. The final height will be what it will be. There is nothing to guarantee the above figures are solidly in tact.

Off the subject for a second. I'm still in support of Dubaimegaprojects current height figures for BD as per the Datum Point measurements. This building has already crossed 600m. It is only less than 13m from besting the KVLY mast. The Datum Point as Skytower described is the official Dubai municipality reference ground level where streets run. It is not underground. Hopefully Skytower can elaborate this in his words for a complete clarification.

Hi all.

Here is the spire schedule using the revised schedule from July '07. As it is in a graph form it is not very detailed.

- Beginning of steel construction - first week of November - Start of Tier 16 - 585.7 Meters
- Second week of December - Level 160 - Second level of Tier 17 - 611.3 Meters
- Second week of March '08 - Roof 1 - Start of Tier 19 - 643.3
- Second week of April - Roof 2 - Start of Tier 20 - 662.5
- First week of May - Roof 3 - Start of Tier 21 - 681.7
- Fourth week of May - Roof 4/ Spire 1 - Start of Tier 22 - 700.9
- Third week of June - Spire 2 - Start of Tier 23 - 720.1
- Second week of July - Spire 3 - Start of Tier 24 - 739.3 - Beginning of Spire Lifting
- Second week of August - Height begins to increase again
- Third week of September - Final height - 818.0

It appears the steel started a month behind schedule - the first week of December. It remains to be seen if that means the rest of the steel schedule will also be a month behind.

an article from Panama ( La Prensa ) with my pic

Levels 139 to 154 are 4.8 meters.
Level 155 and 155 Mezz. ( the last 2 concrete levels ) are both 3.2 meters.
Look at some pics of the top again ...
Level 156 ( the first steel level ) IS the same height as 155 and 155 Mezz. together - 6.4 meters.

Piling starts next Monday - Citation (Duncan McKenzie)

He he, yes you're right it was kinda embarrassing. It was one of 3 plots being tested and those working at those sites were testing for Al Burj just as they are doing now at 2 other locations, one of which we all know about.
Those datums are still set at those locations, however the one you're referring to will be home to 3 towers called the Tibirius Towers & Hotel of which the largest one will be 560m with the other 2 being 412m. Work starts in that whole area in May 2008.

If only this building is built at Shanghai, seeing yourself in solid ground above the cloud is truly stunning
