Yeah, but the same goes for most towers in the world (having the unused portion I mean). All part of the design and for show of course.

Some will argue that this "artificial" height is not true height and shouldn't be allowed. So, should we measure a building only to roof level? Or should we really include spires/antennas? Matter of opinion I guess.. Personally, I think the spire/antenna should be included when measuring such structures.

Then again, Burj Dubai doesn't actually have a roof now does it!

1772, the Burj Dubai is a mixed use tower with commercial and residential areas. The soft opening will be on January 4, 2010. As far as I know, this date is to commemorate the accession of Sheikh Mohammad, the Ruler of Dubai.

Guys why are there so many people? Ive never seen that many people there before...its usually quiet with plenty of room around the lake.

The Athletes' Village for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi has been officially opened and described as "better than the Beijing Olympics" by Craig Hunter, the Chef de Mission for England's team.
The dates for the Games are 3 - 14 October 2010, inclusive of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Weather wise the city experiences an October mean temperature of a minimum 17.2 degrees centigrade and maximum 31.3 degrees centigrade with humidity ranging from 31 to 78% for the October and November months.
