When in the year should one go to Dubai for best chances of clear views?
I don't want to go to the observation deck and see nothing.

Anyone have a rough estimate as to when this will Surpass the Fargo ND structure and of course the late Warsaw radio mast.

Let's go back in time... on 20th May 2008, Burj Dubai had 650m, already more than former Warzawa Radio Mast (643m). Though officially, BD will appear in most tallest lists not until it's regarded as complete. I suppose the soft opening, announced for 4th January'10, would be the right time for that.

Hi Christos.

Yes - when I posted that I said it could be from one of levels 5 to 8 but since there doesn't seem to be any room doors in the hallway it also could be part of the hotel lobby. The door at the end of the hallway does kinda look like an elevator. The ones on the right definately are.

While I was going through and dating recently aquired pics I noticed something.
On the "why the different glazing in the lower row of section 21A cladding" question.
See these 2 shots from 09 11 23 - I can't recall the photogs, sorry.

It is hard to be accurate with these shots and these are the best I have. After studying these I am fairly confident the lights giving the lazer effects are mounted on the inside of the glazing in question up in section 21A.

So the idea of a lighting effect as the reason for the different glazing wins the prize. The "lazer" lights look cool and will make a great addition to the multitude of festival lighting that make this thing look as good at night as in the daylight.

I was thinking exactly that for the last two - three days
