This side seems finished but no idea the other ones , I just got the news and the pics from the Emaar but I think still not open for the public.(I will try to check tomorrow.)

"Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building by Emaar Properties set to be inaugurated on January 4, 2010, stands tall amidst The Park, an 11-hectare green oasis that surrounds the foot of the tower."

This is good news , hopefully they are not joking now

I expect more news in the next week.

Delayed opening

I'm an owner of a flat in Burj Dubai 21st floor, about two weeks back (beginning of December) I received a letter from Emaar informing me that the handover of the flat has been pushed back to the 28th of Feb 2010.

I don't know if this would have any impact on the official opening of the tower on the 4th of January?

Sorry if this is old news, but I just thought I would share the bit of info I have regarding the opening, thanks.

Seems like the soft opening will be more of a "show". Anyway, it's good that they start opening now. It would be insane to expect such a huge property to open at once.

Such a pity I won't be there on Jan 4. I will visit Dubai in a few days and have to leave on Jan 3! ugh...

May be BD won't open on Jan-4 as planned.
There are no news stories about any big celebration planned for that day.

Hmm.
28th of February you say? My current rental contract is up on March 5th. This could be fortuitous timing.

Hi bigger.
Could you give us some more info ?
Handover was pushed back to Feb 28 from when ? As in what was the handover date before that ?
How many times has it been pushed back ?
Thanks.

Hi PG.
I've been neglecting to thank you for posting all the pics you find.
Thank you - they are appreciated.

So - the landscaping is done or nearly done on podium zone C (by the hotel entrance). I'm sure the other 2 podiums are getting close also.
So Moscow ... what was it you posted last week about the landscaping that will never be done in time ? J/K bud.
Those shots look good with what little they show.

Maybe the flat is not part of the "soft opening"
