Imre, is everything coming off, or the triangular part jutting out into the water staying?
It looks like there is some permanent structures there in the triangular part.
What is the final shape of the lake?

You too!

That lake looks alot larger now with it fully extended @ the video. And I'm glad to hear that the opening date is now for real, after a year of delayed works.

Mobile networks become operational in Burj Dubai

STAFF WRITER 7:17 HRS IST

Dubai, Dec 25 (PTI) With less than two weeks left for the official opening of Burj Dubai, mobile telecomunication networks have become fully operational in the world's tallest tower.

The United Arab Emirates' telecom service providers - Du and Etisalat - have covered the tower with their enhanced mobile network.

This would allow the visitors to access a range of services like IPTV, broadband with 24 Mbps, voice telephony, and video on demand anywhere in the iconic tower, which will officially open on January 4 next year.

Both, Etisalat and Du issued statements announcing covering Burj Dubai with their enhanced mobile networks. Du's network has 2G and 3.75G capabilities and covers surrounding buildings.

"Now, all those who visit or work in Burj Dubai will enjoy seamless connectivity for making voice and video calls, as well as for mobile internet and other mobile services from Du," the company said.

Are they using the tower as an antenna for mobile communication?
If yes, then the whole Dubai will be covered by the new enhanced services, right?

An 800 meter tall antenna can service mobile phones within a 100 km. radius.
