Hi Imre.
Nice night shots.
Something I just noticed - the ceremony is the buildings inauguration which means its formal beginning or introduction. Did Emaar ever actually say it is opening ? I know many journalists said opening but Emaar has only said inauguration from what I have.

Hi Altin.
You heard it could be 2 years untill the whole of the works is completed.
Wow - even more than ever Emaar should issue a press release with some real dates in it ...

Hi OTR.
Thanks for the night shots.
I figured out there is "lazer" lights behind the row of cladding with the different glazing a couple weeks ago.
Your shots show clearly that this is the case.

The party should still be good.

I think no one knows at the moment

Still not clear which gate they are talking about.

Or they will close the whole downtown area as they did when was the National Day celebration ?

Imre. my guess is that access to the BD park where they have built the stand will be through the new area between the residences and across the new bridge.

I have booked a table at the Palace but still they have no idea as to the actual itinerary. Emaar normally do a load of posting letting us know that the Boulevard etc will be closed, but nothing as yet.

I watched the activity from my balcony last night, so I guess that is good enough in light of all the confusion.

It really is getting all rather exciting now, isn't it?

My boss said that he's going to be away, so I'm hoping I can sweet-talk him into giving me the key for his apartment at The Address

They will do on 2nd of January or 3rd

Anyway, the whole event organisation, marketing etc.. looks very unprofessional for me.

Agreed,

I was looking through my zoom at the spire this morning and there is still taped up broken cladding panels, and some grey blanked out cladding panels.

Why do that at this stage and not replace.

As I said yesterday, the tipping of garbage is out of sight behind the blue Emaar fence, the broken windows are 800m plus out of sight (not).

What a mentality

Is the landscaping all around the building completed?
Or, are they planning to complete before Jan 4?

Actually its a sea not an ocean and secondly its the Arabian Gulf and not Persian Gulf as per US geographical society renamin a few years back. Only people who call it Persian Gulf/ Sea are the Iranians and ll other GCC countries refer to it as the Arabian Gulf

Fury,

BurjDubai.com belongs to Emaar, and on their site you can find this piece of information:

"'At The Top' Observation Deck Ticket Information

By day and night At The Top, Burj Dubai provides unparalleled views of Dubai.

A standard visit to At The Top, Burj Dubai lasts approximately 60 minutes, allowing ample time for you to relax and enjoy the Dubai skyline at your leisure. At The Top will open in January 2010."

It means they are planning to open the ob deck in January, however most probably it won't be on the 4th of January.
