Just curious - if by answering you may jeapordize your job please disregard the question. Either way - your knowledge is greatly appreciated.

The loading dock on the Concourse level looks to be quite large. A permanent scanner is a good security feature.

I think these pictures answers your question

There's already a television car from Dubai Media Inc.

Then, some pics of the Security gates

The tallest building ever
(Brought to you by Chicago)

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- As a boy, growing up about two blocks from the beach in Southern California, Adrian Smith built towering sand castles -- only to watch the Pacific Ocean wash them away.

Now, the Chicago architect has designed a far more lasting legacy: the world's tallest building, the Burj Dubai, which will have its grand opening Monday in the debt-ridden city-state of Dubai.

The silvery, heat-deflecting skyscraper soars half a mile above the desert, rising to at least 800 meters, or more than 2,600 feet. That's taller than the John Hancock Center stacked atop the Willis Tower.

"The Burj is like a sand castle," said Smith, 65, whose mane of white hair contrasts with his elegant architect's uniform of black shirt and black pants. "It just keeps going up."

The $1.5 billion, mixed-use skyscraper represents a personal high point for Smith, who led the design of three of the world's 10 tallest buildings -- the Burj Dubai, Chicago's Trump International Hotel & Tower and the Jin Mao Building in Shanghai -- while at the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).

Yet the Burj Dubai has a broader -- unmistakably global -- Yet the Burj Dubai has a broader -- unmistakably global -- significance for Chicago, which invented the skyscraper in the 1880s, pioneered supertall structures in the mid-1960s and had bragging rights to the world's tallest building title from 1974 to 1996, when Sears (now Willis) Tower wore the crown

Yes, and it is likely that the Reagan dynasty (as in Ronald Reagan), had a business interest with this company! Not sure if correct as this was speculated a couple of decades ago!

Construction crews race to get Burj Dubai ready for Monday opening

January 02, 2010

Thousands of construction workers swarmed around the site of the Burj Dubai on Saturday with the record-shattering skyscraper's opening ceremonies just two days away.

Tourists snapped pictures of the silvery, half-mile-high tower, designed by Chicago architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, as work crews outfitted in blue and yellow suits scampered around the tower's plaza.

The 160-story, mixed-use skyscraper, which contains a hotel, condominiums, offices and an observatory has been built on land that was desert only six years ago. It will open against the backdrop of the recent Dubai debt crisis and the collapse of Dubai's real estate boom.

Security is expected to be tight for Monday's opening ceremonies, which are expected to include a fireworks display and a parachute drop.

With a height estimated at more than 2,600 feet--the tower's developers,,Dubai-based Emaar Properties, have kept the actual number a secret--the Burj Dubai will be more than 1,000 feet taller than the current world's tallest building, the 1,667-foot Taipei 101.

The opening of Burj Dubai Metro station will coincide with the opening of Burj Dubai

http://www.dubaichronicle.com/busine...rj-dubai-18820

The opening of the Burj Dubai will coincide with the opening of the Burj Dubai Metro station.

RTA will officially operate the Burj Dubai Metro station to mark the fourth anniversary of the accession of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as Ruler of Dubai and the opening of the world’s tallest tower.

The Burj Dubai station is elevated with the concourse and platform situated at a higher level than the elevated Metro track. The station, 132 metres long and 29 metres wide. has a capacity to handle 11,000 passengers per hour per direction and has two entry points fitted with escalators and lifts.

The station is expected to be used by about 10,000 passengers a day on weekdays and rise on weekends and holidays to 19,000.

The Burj Dubai station will mainly serve the Downtown Burj Dubai district which spans an area of 45 million square feet. It encompasses residential, commercial, and recreational units, including the Burj Dubai, Dubai Mall, 30,000 residential units, nine hotels, 19 residential towers, and a boulevard which spans 3.5 kilometres in length. Residents living on the other side of the road in Jumeirah 2 will also have easy access to the station.

To feed the station, RTA has deployed 11 buses operating on two routes. Six buses will operate on Route F13 at a 10-minute interval linking Burj Dubai station with Burj Dubai area; which includes Dubai Mall, The Palace and The Address hotels, The Boulevard and other locations in the area. Route F16 has five buses operating at 10-minute intervals to link the Burj Dubai station with Jumeirah 2. Buses start at the station and pass at Mazaya Centre, Al Wasl and Al Uruba Road before heading back to the Metro.
