Hi all.
Merry Xmas.

Hats off to Imre and Omaro for some more excelent updates over the last few days.

I went through a bunch of my pics and updated the concrete pours on 5 pages ( of 11 ) of my Burj Dubai Plan. I had estimated the pours for the upper concrete tiers. Many great shots show the pours clearly so now they are accurate in my plan.

Anyone interested they will be updated today on Bikes' Site on the facts page.

This building rocks for sure! But does anyone know the exact date of finishing it's construction and it's opening?

The building tops off in 2008. It opens in 2009.

Dates are unsure at least for me but iff i am correct then the building should top off on 31 december 2008 and its opening in august 2009.

Correct me iff i am wrong.

Cheers

I still can't believe the height of this thing. I wonder what the lifespan of a tower this size will be.

At least as long as the Brooklyn bridge which has been standing since 1883.

A building's lifespan in desert climate is way shorter then in a colder one.

In that case, what is the lifespan? In 50 or maybe 100 years this building (just like all 'normal buildings') will be old. Most people don't like old buildings.
I also think a glass facade probably isn't that pretty after that time in this environment. So.. Interesting issue?

Sunshine 121: I study Construction Technology on a University, there I've been told that it actually is 50 years... In the middle-ages people build churches with walls of 3 meters thick. In that case it's logical that it will stand for a few hundreds of years, ok?
