This will cost a lot of money to change all the names on every single panel, sign, souvenir, ...

They had a decent fireworks show, nothing special compared to the Taipei 101 event iyam. Next to that, the light show was horrible, looked like it was manually operated, they should have spend a couple of million more and hired the best fireworks and light show specialists from across the globe for this, it's a one time event, and i was a little disappointed myself for the lack of specularity. Other then that, can't wait for the interior pictures to start appearing on the web!

Is the observation deck open to the public?

Burj Kalifa sounds better than Willis Tower. We should just accept the name.

I am only sorry that they didn't turn all the lights on at some point, it would have looked great I am sure

The "Guess the Height" competition that happened a while back - does anyone know where the thread is? I have no idea what I voted - so thought I'd look, but can't remember where the thread was.

That's the address ... at least Emaar had the decency to keep the name of the boulevard to themselves and not rename it to Khalifa Boulevard.

Yeah, the name change is ridiculous. I liked Burj Dubai. I was watching a Saudi morning show where the co-host said it was named as such because a great accomplishment should be named after a great person.

I laughed.

Love the pictures and videos. Gotta see it in person someday.

2010 Current and future.

In future 10 years, no other buildings can fight Burj Dubai Tower.

We need to get the height down to the centimeter in order to point out the winner. There's around 35 people who guessed within the 828 range though.
