ZZ, I was more thinking that they will build steel modules at ground level and hoist segment by segment to the top level.

Look at the vertical steel column geometry it looks to link with the top configuration.

Also the conical shape at the top of each column has the purpose of acting as a guide to fit-up the next level of module......maybe?

And to add to my fellow SSC brothers comment: It is now 598 Meters in height and will become 819 meters tall...

Topping off is even a full year later still not quite complete (it tops off at 31 december 2008)(correct me iff i am wrong about the date)

Cheers

Hi all.

Ya Metal - level 16 is Hotel Residences ( Short Term Stay ). Part of the Armani Hotel - levels 9 to 16.

Level 156 steel work looking close to putting down forms for floor slab pour which will be the floor for level 157.

Need some more shots of the bottom but the steel work shot by OTR looks like an entrance lobby. Nice.

I had to do some defending of our mighty Burj on the other forum. It was the wrong thread for it but hey - some envious dicks were dis'n the thing - the tallest structure ever built - and on a skyscraper forum to boot !

Happy New Year All.

Happy New Year to you too . I was suspecting Level 16 wasn't a mech since the cladding isn't as glassy as you can see in this render:

yes, right , 16th still not a mechanical floor , just the 17th and 18th but the glass is bigger there.

The people your talking about are jagoffs. Those guys actually run the dam machine there. I was recently banned by the bastards there for having a run in against the Chicago Spire. That building in my humble opinion is a larger version of what could be sold in some creepy novelty store if you get my meaning. Many of them feel that the CS will be a superior and more attractive building than the Burj Dubai. That is a laugh and a half.

When Steely Dan pm'd me for some warning I pm'd him back and told him where he can stick it, then I got on that thread and told them about the pm and that I don't make deals with crybabies. I got banned and as far as I'm concerned....GOOD!

Yea Fury, most of those guys are bigger pricks than the Chicago Spire.

Well, now they have my advice and your advice available to them. Free of charge.

Looks like they finally took my advice.

Hi all.

Hey Beyond. I wasn,t in the CS thread over there but I know what you mean - talk about overmoderation in that thread. I don't say much in that thread but I do go there daily as the CS is one of 8 projects I am watching closely and saving pics of. I only scour the net for pics of the Burj but the CS thread on SSP has great coverage by HarryC.

On Topic - here is a print showing the shape of tier 16 - levels 156, 157, 158, and 158 Mezz. The print is actually 158. The dimension grids are 4.5 meters. In it we can see the steel structure main vertical and horizontal pieces.

This structure is the most elegant and complex ever built. The many tiers change shape far more than any other and the height is unmatched. I know I'm preaching to the choir here but there is alot of envious haters out there. Each to there own but no true skyscraper fan can be hatin' this magnificent structure.
