Yeah, reading the old thread from 2003 is a real fun now, for everyone interested in this building and watching the whole construction process.

I would say, that is a lot of work to be done.
I see more than one year worth of work there.

I have a dumb question about this creek extension.
This creek starts in sea and goes all the way to end shown in this picture, on the left middle, right?

If the water has no way to go back to sea, how will the water circulate?
if the water does not circulate, won't that become stale?
I am sure there is an explanation to this , but what is it?

The first part of your question is correct. The plans for the creek extension is to extend it all the way back to the sea so water circulates. Don't know about time of completion.

Your post is offtopic. We don't need your help regarding moderator issues. As you can see I already brigged the guy hours ago, there is no need for this reply.

To add onto this, the creek extension to the sea will be part of the Jumeirah Gardens project/ is implemented into it.

This as well though has no time table we are aware of.

Hi all.

Holy crap there are some dumbasses here sometimes ... - you know who you are ... I guess there will always be haters and when a project as groundbreaking / record shattering as this one nears completion they come out of the woodwork - sad really.

Hi Viper.
The only thing open for business is the Obs level.
Feb is the handover for one area and March is the date for handovers and the start of handovers for all the other areas. The last handovers could be as late as Sept '10.

Hi Moscow.
The landscaping will be done before the first handover of which entrance it is in front of obviously. So fully completed by March. If Jan 4 would have been the soft opening as we had figured a while ago all the landscaping would have been done then.

Hi 234.
I have to say I for one am glad you decided not to let the name change deter you from taking and posting shots of this great structure. You were sounding a bit like you weren't going to continue. Your site aerial shots from today are fantastic stuff man - the lightning is cool too. Keep up the good work man.

Hi Pitmaur and morrit.
I really enjoy reading posts from the early threads.
So much so that along with everything else I save of anything to do with this thing I save all the pages from this thread. This is the 30th thread on the BK in this area of the forum - I have them all.

Still no word from the CTBUH on ratifying the height claim ...

I only put up the images for SSC and the use of burjdubaiskyscraper.com

Why should I stop what I enjoy doing as a hobby.

You shouldn't stop - that was my point.
I was referring to your posts after you heard the name change to Khalifa.
You were sounding like you may stop taking pics of the BK.
As I said in my prev. post, I enjoy your updates as much as the other regular Dubai photogs.
That was all.

Water can't become stale it becomes stagnant. Dubai Creek is far too large to be affected plus it consists of Sea Water making it uninhabitable for most Bacteria.

Okay so if i sell my car , my brothers car , my fathers car , and my other brothers car , sell my mothers gold and diamonds ...... sell the homes i built and kidnap my maid and ask a ransom from Imelda marcos , i could possibly affrod a 1 bedroom in the Burj Khalifa

Should i ? Im tempted.

btw about the observation deck , if i pay 400 dirhams , i get to go to the VIP deck or the normal one still just fast tracked or something ? i want to go again this weekend (last one i was not able to)
