str was also exceptionally great in making paper models, his site is still alive but he hasnt updated it in a very long time. he has visited the scale models section a few weeks ago to say that he will be back in a few years.

The design of Burj Dubai is better compared to other tall buildings. Has a grandiose and beautiful architecture unseen for such a tall building. The architecture and engineering itself allowed for such a tall building to be even possible by giving it wind and earthquake resistance.

Very Interesting read on the potential for a 'stack effect' to materialise at the Burj. Scary...lets hope someone's keepin an eye on all those doors and airlocks!

@ Imre. I like your original photo's over the photo shopped ones. You're a great photographer, but please leave PS'ing to the pro's :-)

There are picture from 360 degrees of this tower from top to the bottom and from the inside posted by dedicated members. Check the pages to see Imre's photos from the top of the spire and from "At the Top Burj Dubai" observation deck which are on previous pages of this thread.

I don't like the proportions of this building. It's too bottom heavy. There is a view of it thats great, where the base looks slender... but the angle where the base is the widest makes it look like a its obese on the bottom and anorexic on the top.

Great engineering feat! The design could have been much better for such a huge project.

You do realise the building is 2700 ft tall, don't you?
