And the number of units in the hotel itself is?

I hope the flood in the mall hasn't effected the tower, I am looking forward to my first visit to the viewing gallery, when I am in Dubai next month

-The mall has re opened and no shops experienced damage. The top level of the aquarium is open and only the bottom is closed for maintenance.

-Peter Brook, the aquarium’s design director, was not directly involved in the matter. But, at home in Australia, he said he believed the problem was likely to be a “small issue” related to the chemical seal of the acrylic panel at the joint. This would be a straightforward repair job, he said.

-The panel manufacturers and staff from the aquarium’s installers were believed to be on their way to Dubai.

Dubai’s own ‘At the Top’ experience for NASA astronauts

Dubai, UAE: February 27, 2010: When it comes to witnessing the sweeping vistas of the world, Mr Barry E. Wilmore and Dr Robert L. Satcher Jr have seen it all – from space.

In Dubai on a private visit organised by GEMS Education, the two astronauts from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), were treated to another awe-inspiring bird’s-eye view of the city – this time, from the highest point in the city, Burj Khalifa.

On the first-ever visit of a NASA team to the Middle East, the two astronauts toured At the Top, the world’s highest observatory deck with an outdoor terrace on level 124 of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, developed by Emaar Properties.

It was a little leak in side the tunnel

Only that area was effected.

Problem is water went down to the lower basement as well, this was closed longer.

Everything ok now.

Hi Dennis.
There were press releases a while ago on the Opus. There was talk about one copy to sit in the Burj as the world's tallest book at 15 feet high.
I posted then on it and I will repeat it now ...
I would hope someone who gets a copy will scan and post some pics and info from the Opus. Kraken Opus's are well known to have great photo's and this one is reported to contain many previously unseen construction shots. The number of available copies are very limited and priced out of reach for the common man from what I've heard.

Michael Jackson's Opus book had a reasonable price, I hope Burj Khalifa's Opus will be the same. As I read, there will be multiple types of the Opus.

But I'm really interested in buying a copy. Still waiting for the price...

Such a amazing beauty. Great piece of modern engineering . Best looking Supertall on this planet IMO. And the name change was a bit weird at first bit I'm quite used to it now. I still think Burj Dubai is a better name because it's much more familiar and it's Dubai's landmark. I hope to visit this tower (and Dubai) as soon as possible

That sounds like good news Daq. I hope there will be some reasonable priced copies apart from the limited editions and the ones destined for high price auction. I would like a copy also if possible.

Anyone knows if this building is fully occupied or not? I wonder how much is the lease and if we can get a discount?

I'm pretty sure it's highly discounted due to the global economic crisis currently but just like the Empire State Building, it will flourish and dominate.
