And what about the cars on the roads - look closely at them.

Look again.

And again.

See?

They're NOT MOVING! They've clearly been abandoned too.

And the Metro train. I'm pretty certain that when I first looked at the post, it was just leaving the station. And it still is. Even the Metro has been abandoned!

Before you edited your post, it was equally as tragic so why edit it in the first place?

Are you trying to get you post count up by posting such irrelevant posts or are you really that clueless about Dubai and the skyscraper world?

Wait... don't answer that!

Dubai know more the Economic and Financial Crisis than South Korea. So many buildings are said on hold but their companies haven't got more money for years. Are you really sure the pace of Dubai get faster ??????? In 4-5 years perhaps.

I get it now they essentially built a giant office park. Deira is already the place where its more of a city with its close quarters, narrow streets, old buildings, markets, and all the things that go with a living breathing city. This is basically just an office park where all they have to worry about is building new towers and no townhouses or anything in between to get in the way of office space or rentals. Its the same for the jumeriah lakes towers although its even more of an office park there where each building has a road off the main road with its own cauldesac. It does look a little weird with no lowrises, townhouses, apartments, or the usual brick n mortar buildings that are usually between office towers in other cities, here its high rises with garages between them, but it makes sense.

Giorgio Armani worried Burj designs may look ‘old’

by Shane McGinley on Monday, 01 March 2010

Iconic fashion designer Giorgio Armani has said he is nervous his first hotel project, which will be located in the base of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, may look outdated when officially opened later this month.

“I’ve been working on this for five years. I’m finally going to see what I designed, and it’s a bit nerve-racking to think that what I liked five years ago might look old now,” the Italian designer told US-based fashion trade publication Woman’s Wear Daily at the weekend.

The Armani Hotel Dubai, which will be the designer’s first hospitality project and was developed in collaboration with Emaar Properties, will be located in the base of the Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai.

The hotel is due to be officially launched on March 18. Last month it was revealed that room rates will start at AED1,700 ($463) for a night in one of 24 Armani studios.

Hi all.

Emaar nor SOM have still not sent correct info to the CTBUH.
I find this unbelievable.

Nice find PG.
The furnishings in the Armani residences are not to my tastes. Everything is too square and looks thinly padded to sit on. I wonder if the people who will live there can move their own furniture in ? After paying the hefty sum to move in I would want to shove all that crap into a closet or corner and move some comfortable furniture in.
Maybe it's just me ...

HD video to appreciate the pano.

I also have a close up Emirates Park, will load later.

I expect many of the gaps will be filled with lowrise buildings now. Some In Total 260 plots, though I expect 180 plots are vacant or failed. I am doing a review for one of the papers here, so will post a link on the UAE thread later. I think a new master plan is available, so we are contacting zoning to find out whats going on.
