No it has not malec. Final height is a secret. I'll say this much for sure.....808m or 818m are two figures that will not come true. They are going for an undisclosed secret height which will be determined at the very end of the deal.

My guess, and this is only a guess, is that BD will go over 900m.

I think he is referring to the decision if the addition of an observation deck were to put at 200m higher where spaces limited only allow 2-3 people standing. The prices would of couse, burn a hole in anyone pocket.

I have just done an rough calculation should BD go higher than 818m. If each Tier above the concrete section would be increased just by another plant floor (6.4m) and the last 3 Tier before the spire to another 3.2m (making each of the last 3 Tier 12.8m or 2 plant floor height). Also re-adjusting the current T15 by increasing by another floor (lets say around 5m~ height) so that it coincide with other Tiers above it around 25m.

Here is how it goes (it is not likely to happen however, its just a for-fun-type calculation):

T1-T15 / L1-L157 (Concrete section. Another floor of 5.1m. Total 590.8m)
T16-T24 / L157 - L189 (Steel section. Each Tier increased to 25.6m. Total 204.8m)
T25-T27 (Steel section. Each Tier increased from 9.6m to 12.8m. Total 38.4m)
T28-T30 (Spire section. Height remain at 50m)

Result?

BD is able to hit 884m/2900ft without pushing the spire higher

However this is really the tallest I can imagine without making the shape of BD too weird or off the chart. I personally really prefer BD to go higher, but not above 900m or 3000ft.

NO, 818 meters by last plans seen... it could go higher then the old plans.. if they did a revision ofcourse.. but the best guess is still 818 meters.

I would guess its going to be at least a month, you cant just move from concrete to steel over night. Also the concrete crew is different from the steel crew.... And its going to take them some time to get really ramped up.. familiar with there new work place, bugs worked out, the men properly trained etc etc... Anyone who believes there going to pick this up and run with it is most likely mistaken.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi,
i have to much time. so i've decided to "complete" the burj dubai. now there are three versions of the burj dubai:

The 808m Burj Dubai:

The 900m Burj Dubai:

And the 1011m Burj Dubai:

Personally I would say the 900m Burj Dubai is realistic but never the one with 1011m

I heard from a guy from Besix (one of the constructors) that it would be just over 800 meter, but he could not give an exact number.

The 818m looks the most eloquent =)

(i've added an edit of the 818m version, with completed tier and re-aligned steel section so it lines up correctly. hope this is ok)

It looks way to thin imo.
It takes away the impressive massivness of the burj.
It looks so fragile with the part they are going to start with now

I think, the diagram of the three versions of Burj Dubai is wrong.
The design for the 808 meters of Burj Dubai is not the same that the 900 and 1011 version.
For me, the Burj Dubai will have more than 818 meters, but less than 860 meters.

What ever the height. This building is already so high that it sets a benchmark for future skyscrapers to follow.

May it be 700 or 1011 meters versions. The building never looses its shine on the world.

cheers
