Opening delayed again due to volcanic ash situation, and I would guess a lack of potential customers down to no fly restrictions.

Wow, could Armani use any more beige? I lol-ed when I saw "gentleman's club" that has a different meaning in America.

Armani Hotel opening delayed by six days

By Bindu Suresh RaiPublished Sunday, April 18, 2010

The Armani Hotel opening in Dubai has been delayed by six days in lieu of the ongoing aviation crisis across Europe that has seen flights grounded because of the spread of volcanic ash from Iceland.

In a statement to Emirates Business, a spokesperson from Armani Hotel said: “Due to the unforeseen closure of European Aerospace and the subsequent cancellation of international flights, the much anticipated grand opening of Armani Hotel Dubai has been postponed from April 21 to April 27.”

This is second delay for the exclusive property, designed by fashion icon Giorgio Armani and located in the Burj Khalifa. This joint collaboration with Emaar Properties was initially scheduled to open on March 18, which was then delayed to April 21.

It has been learned that due to flights not taking off across Europe, Armani, along with a lieu of celebrities were unable to attend the grand opening.

Occupying 10 floors of the world’s tallest building, this 160-room hotel will include eight restaurants, a spa and a lounge, in addition to chocolate and flower shops.

nice to see you back Imre.

Here are some great renders - source shall remain anonymous as requested.

Not sure of the exact location in the structure of each specific render, but I do know :
- Ballrooms are on the concourse level.
- Restaurants are on the concourse and ground levels, levels 1 and 122.
- Lounges are on levels 3 and 123.
- Clubs are on level 122.
The renders labeled main lobby look like one of the 3 entrance pavillions and the lobby inside. It's definitely not the office side so it's one of the other 2. I could be wrong on this but it doesn't look like the residential side from what I have - so my guess is the hotel side.

There is one ballroom that can be divided in two smaller rooms, it is on lake side.

Picture on the ballrooom (divided) taken in January:

Picture in the ballroom entrance lobby (also January), located at same level as hotel entrance lobby:

The lounge bar is on top of Office Lobby

We also find restaurants at level 3.

You are right for the hotel lobby, but actually the arches are smaller than on the render.

The arches in Kandahar restaurant are round.

Hi isicman.

Thanks for the info.
Any info on the landscaping ? I'm presuming podium zone C on the hotel entrance side is complete or very near complete. I'm wondering how the other 2 sides are progressing.
I know you are restricted as to what pics and info you can post but by all means - feel free to post all you can ...

Because the man it is named after cannot get here for the April 21st opening. And he wants to come.

The high profile Armani Hotel Dubai was all set to open its doors at the iconic Burj Khalifa on April 21. Now, following the disruptions in international flights, the opening has been rescheduled for April 27 because Giorgio Armani cannot make it.

I'm diggin the earth tones for the decor. Very nice. How common is it for buildings in the Middle East / Dubai to be decked out with sand / earth colors? Thanks very much for showing the renders.

Burj Khalifa the world's tallest building and Downtown Dubai take top honours

Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world which forms the iconic centerpiece of Downtown Dubai, has been named the winner of the mixed use project award in the prestigious Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in the Middle East and North Africa.

The awards are held in conjunction with Cityscape Abu Dhabi which runs until 21 April 2010 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre and provide a valuable insight into current and future projects in the region.

Burj Khalifa is part of the two-square kilometre flagship development by Emaar called Downtown Dubai and, on completion, was named in honour of President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Burj Khalifa, Dubai's new urban masterpiece and the world's tallest man-made structure at 828 metres, is surrounded by hotels, the region's biggest shopping mall, a world of entertainment options, as well as commercial and residential developments that make up Downtown Dubai.

In their comments on Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai, the panel of international and regional judges said: "True to the notion of iconic, this development encompasses everything good in a mixed use development - a pleasant commercial working environment, a range of excellent hospitality venues, world class shopping and a beautiful residential integration." Chris Speller, Group Director of Cityscape, added: "Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai have given the world of real estate a new point of reference for modern living and are clear and worthy winners of this prestigious award." The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs were associate sponsor for the Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in the Middle East and North Africa with headline sponsors Boomerang Automated Parking and Self Storage, Gaggenau, Signature Kitchen and Jotun Paints.
