Well there's the small challenge of rendering it, and then getting it uploaded, to overcome first!

Would love to help Gerald, though 1. I'm not in Dubai, and 2. I know my comp (even though it handles thousands of Mark II shots well) would still lack the RAM to build it all for ya.

Good luck though!!

Now you just have to find someone with say, an EVGA SR-2 or Classified board that has lot of RAM installed.

Hi all.

Two days untill the launch of the Armani hotel - April 27th. I'm presuming there won't be any more delays. The last was because of flight restrictions in Europe because of the volcano eruption in Iceland and Armani himself wants to be present.

I went to the Armani site as if to book a room. It took forever to actually get to the booking page ... The delay between launch and open to the public looks to be only one day. Rooms can be booked from the 28th on.

As we can see 1 night for 1 person in the cheapest rooms is 761 Canadian. Way outa my price range but I guess reasonable for such a hotel venture located in the WTS.

Can't wait for some shots from the hotel to start hitting the net.

Presumeably the handovers for the other 5 areas will begin in May and/or June. The last word was they were to begin in March/April but with the hotel delayed a total of 5 weeks since then it makes sense the handovers were also delayed.

Giorgio Armani, Esmod Dubai collaborate on fashion show for Armani Hotel launch in Burj Khalifa

Armani to mentor 25 young fashion designers in preparation for widely anticipated fashion show

World-renowned fashion designer Giorgio Armani has selected the French Fashion University Esmod in Dubai as partner for an upcoming fashion show that will mark the opening of the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa on April 27, 2010. The Italian designer will be mentoring 25 students from Esmod who will dress the participating catwalk models with Armani creations.

Armani chose the French Fashion University Esmod Dubai for its regional and global reputation, exceptional commitment to fashion, the high quality of the works of its students, and the overall dynamism of the region’s fashion scene. On top of that, trust has been a major factor that influenced Armani’s decision to choose Esmod Dubai as it takes a great deal of responsibility, professionalism and accuracy to perform this kind of task in such a high profile event. Since its 2006 launch in Dubai Academic City the institution has lived up to its status as the only French fashion university fully dedicated to professional fashion education in the Middle East.

“The University and its students are delighted to collaborate with one of the world’s top fashion designers on such an important fashion show. This very memorable partnership supports our focus on creating development programs that expose our students to local and international opportunities. We are proud to work closely with Armani,” said Tamara Hostal, Founder and Director, French Fashion University Esmod Dubai.

Armani Hotel Dubai is the first of a series of hotels to be developed by Armani Hotels and Resorts. Giorgio Armani will personally design the content, design and style of the new hospitality facility. Armani is the head of Giorgio Armani S.p.A., one of the world’s leading fashion and lifestyle design houses. The company manages 5,000 employees, 13 factories, and a direct network of 500 exclusive retail stores in 46 countries worldwide.

The disadavantage of the hotel is that you can`t see the Burj Dubai from the window.

Armani hotel opens

Dubai: After a few delays, designer Giorgio Armani formally opened the world’s first Armani Hotel in the Burj Khalifa on Tuesday and said his company would, in partnership with Dubai-based Emaar Properties, open 10 more such hotels over the next 10 years.
“I am thrilled to open the doors,” Armani said as he threw open 160 rooms and 144 private residences which are ready for occupancy.
Room rates at the Armani Hotel start at Dh4,000 per night. The hotel and residences occupy floors concourse to 16 and 38 and 39 of the world’s tallest tower and have been designed by Armani himself “in every aspect”.
“It was marvelous to see how the project in Dubai came to life after five years of hard work,” the designer said at the Burj Khalifa launch.
Opening of the Dubai hotel was scheduled for September 2009, which was then rescheduled for the end of last year. That date too was not met and April 21 was set as the new date. The volcanic eruption in Iceland and the resultant flight disruptions forced another delay to April 27.
The hotel is a joint venture between Emaar Properties, the developer of Burj Khalifa, and Giorgio Armani.
It will also have a nightclub called the Armani Privé, a spa, an Armani Dolci confectionery store and an Armani Galleria.*
Armani said his Armani Hotels & Resorts Group will target Milan as the next venue of an Armani Hotel, followed by Marrakech, Egypt, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai and London.

It looks much nicer than I thought it would be.

I like the minimalistic style. Very cool.

But hotels like that are two a penny in Dubai, their service will have to be out of this world to match the price per night. My bet it will end up more than halving the cost.
