Armani Hotel not listed on Expedia, Travelocity or Hotels.com or trip advisor I wonder if the reservation is only to be made on Armani hotel's website? anyone have information regarding this.

base price on Amani website is around 750.00 USD/night, way way way too much considering other hotels such as the Grosvenor and Le Royal Meridian go for about 230-245 a night with breakfast ( larger rooms) ... and up to 390 USD for the best rooms as of today including transportation to and from hotel, free internet, breakfast.

You have to have too much money to give almost a grand a night for their regular rooms, over 338 hotels in Dubai out of which the top 10 are very comparable with the Armani hotel qualities for a fraction of the cost

if your after the name Armani is the place to go but I really do not see the point to paying 750 a night.

Me either, and you are correct, Booking.com and Expedia does not have a contract with Armani hotel yet. They should have done that prior launch.

$750 a night, and probably more on advertized occasions...............not bad.

There are plenty of $230 a night hotels world wide, only one Armani, so well worth the cost.

Once it frees up and the medie cools down, Im in there.

Can't wait for the shots ...

I have a couple of questions for you though.
1 - When you refer to the hotel suites do you mean the hotel suites on levels 38, 39 or the hotel residences on levels 19 to 37 or the rooms in the Armani hotel ?
2 - When you refer to the normal burj residences do you mean the hotel residences on levels 19 to 37 or the residences on levels 44 to 72 ?

I'm not trying to find out what level you are going to live on, I am just interested to know what areas are starting handovers and what podiums and entrances are finished and open.

Here is the naming convention the plans refer to (and my label for the different areas):
- Walkway from Mall entrance - Ground level - Observation deck lobby
------ Observation deck - level 124
- Podium zone C - Level 1 - Hotel entrance
------ Armani hotel - concourse to levels 8 and 38 39 (area 1)
------ Armani residences - levels 9 to 16 (area 2)
------ Hotel residences - levels 19 to 37 (area 3)
- Podium zone B - Ground level - Residence entrance
------ Residences - levels 44 to 72 (area 4)
------ Luxury residences - levels 76 to 108 (area 5)
- Podium zone A - Concourse level (and level B1) - Office entrance
------ Boutique offices - levels 112 to 121, 125 to 135, 139 to 154 (area 6)

We know the Armani hotel (area 1) and the hotel entrance/podium are open as well as the Armani residences (area 2) from your post. I'm wondering about the other areas and entrances/podiums ?

Hi Fury.

I'm talking about;

Armani residences - levels 9 to 16 (area 2) - my friend owns on 15th floor.

I have in Residences - levels 44 to 72 (area 4).

They have started orientations on a few floors of the residences but from the list I saw yesterday there were about 10-20.

From what I saw yesterday - very high security, I only saw two entrances from Burj Khalifa Boulevard that were open.

Podium zone C - Armani Hotel main entrance
Podium zone B - Residence Entrance.

Hope this helps, will get some more information and go back asap.

Well, I'm just happy to see that the BK is finally inching its way towards becoming a properly functioning building now, with residents, guests, etc. Any way you look at it though, it's a colossal job to bring such a building of this magnitude 90-100% on line, but I think day by day it is getting closer to the mark.

DP Architects (Singapore) staff in charge with designing the parking lot of the Mall, including that G-mashine on the picture, should be shot ... no wait, should be stuffed with chewing gums and let loose naked in Orchard Road, and if a male, also with a sign "I got a BJ today" hanging from his neck.

World's Largest Panorama Shows Dubai Down to Girl in Bikini

Awesome Gerald, you're on the news mate:

At 45 gigapixels, this panorama is the largest in the world. With that detail, it's a Peeping Tom wet dream. It also shows why Dubai seems to have materialized from another dimension. The "We're All F*cking Crazy Here" dimension.

The 45-gigapixel panorama was made on April 23 by Gizmodo's friend Gerald Donovan from the construction site of the Ubora Towers in Business bay, Dubai. It took 4,250 images taken with a Canon 7D using 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L zoom at 400mm. He shot under the sun for 3 hours and 30 minutes with a temperature of 37C 98F in the shade. He says that, at the end of it, "the equipment was almost too hot to touch."

I'm getting emails saying people have created new snapshots, but am unable to actually get to the site myself.

I'm beginning to think they've blocked my account for all the trouble I've caused
