I think this worthy in addition to adding other GD panos, of it's own thread.

Oh and right now Gerald I am typing this from my Ipad and laying in a nice bath.

And before you go to any bother, there are no windows LOL

I don't think that was mine actually, although this thing did go live when I was a bit squiffy, so anything's possible!

CNET have picked up on it now, so I would imagine the gigapan servers are getting absolutely hammered.

I wonder what the story is here, a Ferrari up the BK. Cant wait till morning to look this one up.

Gives a scale also to the deck setback size at that level.

I took a snapshot on GD's pano.

PS Gerald, spent hours on this, fantastic.

Hi all.

They have started orientations on a few floors of the residences but from the list I saw yesterday there were about 10-20.

From what I saw yesterday - very high security, I only saw two entrances from Burj Khalifa Boulevard that were open.

Podium zone C - Armani Hotel main entrance
Podium zone B - Residence Entrance.

Hope this helps, will get some more information and go back asap.

Hi DXB.
Thanks for the info.
So 3 of the 6 areas are open or beginning handovers (1, 2, and 4) that we know of - cool.
Also 2 of the 3 entrances and podiums are open and finished.

Gerald, the weather cleared up and it seams to be the clearest day in months. I can clearly see the Burj from Jebel Ali port.

Get your gear man and go out there.

It is an amazingly clear afternoon. Up there with the best I've ever witnessed in Dubai, but I'm giving myself a bit of a rest

AHIC delegates celebrate at Armani Hotel

Posted on: 3 May 2010 at 09:46 AM in Hotel News

Hundreds of delegates from the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC) celebrated amid the splendour of the new Armani Hotel Dubai last night, as the Burj Khalifa property stepped out onto the world stage.

With industry leaders in town ahead of tonight’s World Travel Awards, the hotel took the opportunity to shine, offering guests a new definition of luxury.

The location is the first by fashion designer Giorgio Armani, and offers a further boost to the emirate’s recent economic resurgence.

Armani Hotel Dubai is the first in a string of planned properties to be built in collaboration with Dubai’s Emaar Properties.

The unprecedented luxury hospitality venture is in every way Armani, with each element personally designed by the fashion legend in his trademark minimalist style.

Following the opening Mr Armani said: “My ambition for Armani Hotel Dubai – the first of a collection of Armani hotels, resorts and residences that will soon circle the world – is to celebrate comfort and style by providing the highest standards of design, hospitality and service.”

The Emaar-Armani collaboration – initiated in 2005 - is set to follow the Dubai opening with the Armani Hotel Milano in 2011.

Other projects include Armani’s first resort, to be located in Marrakech, and Armani residences villas in Marassi, Egypt.

Emaar Properties chairman Mohamed Alabbar explained the opening of Armani Hotel Dubai would set a new benchmark in luxury hospitality globally.

“The hotel brings together two global competencies – the project management capabilities of Emaar and the superior aesthetics defined by Giorgio Armani.

“Armani Hotel Dubai will further also establish Burj Khalifa as one of the world’s unmatched luxury destinations,” added Mr Alabbar.

Armani Hotel Dubai will be home to eight unique dining experiences, as well as Armani/Privé - an upscale lounge, home to the world’s largest LCD screen and costing at least 3,000 dirhams per visit.

The world’s first in-hotel Armani/SPA will offer 12,000 square feet of wellness, where guests can enjoy treatment rooms, thermal suites, a fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.

The hotel – where a standard room will cost 4,000 dirhams a night - will be home to the Armani/Dolci chocolates store; florist Armani/Fiori; and Armani/Galleria, showcasing select couture accessories.

Maybe Fury can clarify what's the height of that tier/setback, so we'd know how up on the Khalifa the presumably Enzo is.

Is it really what it looks like? I went back to the original photograph, but the image quality is pretty much identical to what you see on the gigapan.

Surely it's not a real car???

Just had my first visit inside the Burj Khalifa.

No walk in guests allowed at the moment so I went for the new car and no questions asked.

All I can say is that it is special, and G+T was cheaper than The Address.

Fury, I looked at the Armani phone number and knew that there would be an 888 somewhere + 9714 888 3777. WAs this the intended height, will it be telescopically raised LOL

Fully booked for next few weeks, but when things settle down I will book in.

I hot some pics on the Iphone, but not worth the effort.

Emaar looks for new Armanis

Rebecca Bundhun

Last Updated: May 05. 2010 9:57PM UAE / May 5. 2010 5:57PM GMT

Emaar Hospitality is going global with plans to open more Armani hotels. It will also open Address hotels in Istanbul and Budapest, its chief executive says.

The Address Hotels and Resorts was launched two years ago and has five properties in Dubai, including The Address Downtown Dubai and The Address Montgomerie Dubai.

“The last two years were about building our brand and the existing hotels, and now it’s really about moving the brand internationally,” said Marc Dardenne, the chief executive of Emaar Hospitality, a Dubai-based subsidiary of Emaar Properties.

As well as the agreements it is about to sign in Turkey and Hungary, The Address has announced management contracts for properties in the south of France and Marrakech. The company is also considering an expansion across the Middle East and more hotels on its home turf.

“Ideally we’d like to have a beach property [in Dubai],” said Mr Dardenne. “It would be great to have a beach property on the Palm, but there’s nothing confirmed there. Other choices would be Abu Dhabi and the other Gulf states. We are looking at Saudi and Egypt.”

The company also operates Armani Hotels and Resorts, which launched its first property last week, in the Burj Khalifa. It aims to have 10 hotels.

“It is the perfect time to open because it adds one more attraction to the Downtown area,” said Mr Dardenne. “We have bookings from guests who have really chosen to come to stay at the Armani hotel and it happens to be in Dubai, so they had no plans previously to come to Dubai.”

WTF is Emaar thinking, virtually the whole Downtown Burj Dubai district is ON HOLD and they are planing hotels in Budapest and Istanbul. What a developer , tsssss. -.- If i was an investor, i would be pissed off, if even only one of the planned hotels would be realised.
