Hi all.

Hi Imre.
Nice to hear the Armani residences are officially beginning handovers.
As DXB posted the next 2 areas above will start next month (or in 2 months).

The Armani hotel has been open for over 3 weeks. I'm surprised pics haven't hit the net yet. Should be soon I reckon ...

Hi Helghast.
The CTBUH agrees within 1 level with the plans.
Plans - 162 with 3 lower = 165 total
CTBUH - 163 with 1 lower = 164 total
Official actual - 164 with 1 lower = 165 total
Let me elaborate ...
The construction plans count from the Ground level. The CTBUH official count starts from level B1 and doesn't include one of the 5 upper mezzanines. Counting all the levels the construction plans include and starting from the same level the CTBUH does, gives us the official actual.

With that said the steel, spire, and pinnacle above the named levels have many landings and floors to walk on that could be considered unofficial levels. Personally I consider the levels ending at the highest named and I call anything above that sections.

Another way to look at it (just for fun) is to simply divide the monstrous height of this thing by what is considered average level heights. The CTBUH has a scheme set up on their site for determining height if the number of levels and the building use are known. We can use this working backwards using the mixed use building numbers.
828.00 less 6.13 (entrance) less 7.0 (roof MEP) less 2.63*6=15.78 (MEP levels) divided by 3.5 (level height) equals 228 "stories".

or if youve got a better example in florida do let us know..
Haha, I am certainly out of touch with it as I haven't been anywhere near it, but I wasn't commenting on the quality of the experience, merely the disconnect between the name and the experience. Doesn't matter if they buy you a new home for purchasing a ticket--you still aren't at the top, haha.

It was never supposed and it can NOT be a natural-like lake.
A matter of preference, I suppose, I just don't like my lakes looking like putt-putt golf course water--artificial and manufactured. I also can't see why they would want it to appear anything other than natural-like. Do you know, Altin?

Because there's a HUGE fountain operated by some hundreds of high pressure and moving pumps nozzles that would get clogged and blocked if they had to operate on murky "natural" lake water.

ok, mate, how do you intend accomodating the interest level for AT THE TOP, of this structure, if you have a good close look at the top, it accomodates say 3 people at one time in a steel tube, and ah at 50degrees c it wouldnt exactly be popular, hence a airconed facilitiy at a level that well if your say 150 mtr higher up would make squat difference.

as for the lakes they blend in like natural waterways when you see them on the ground , again youve got to be there to comment on the real feel of the place, its vibey and cool.

its a world beating experience, try it and then come back with something please.

Hi OTR.
Frick the guest privacy respect thing ...
You are the guy who ventured onto the podium (at the possible expense of life and limb) and gave us some great shots of the pinnacle laying on blocks waiting to be hoisted aloft.
It's just a hotel - take many pics man ...
JK with ya OTR - thanks for the reply.

If somehow cameras are frowned upon in the public spaces I would still expect to see shots from inside the room and I'm sure many will be hitting the net soon.
