Altin, where is this part of the beach. Holds memories from many years ago for me.

Is the challet hut in the background a bar?

Sorry to be off topic. What would you consider to be the main symbol of Dubai, I know the Burj was inspied by a 6 tipped flower head, but is there anything else that is importsant to Dubai as a symbol or cultural identity.

Thank you

Personally I don't think there is any culture here but I would say the most recognizable symbol would have to be Burj Al Arab.

Business Bay is also a good symbol of current identity!

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking of like an animal, for example the ORYX being a symbol of Qatar, or the Hymenocallis being in Dubai etc.

Just i am thinking of a project for my degree year in Univeristy, based in Dubai, and the only thoughts to me are for example the white robe which is obvioulsy extremely sensetive and important in the entire middle east, and of course the Hymenocallis which the Burj Khalifa was inspied by.

What was Dubai 40 years ago,,, Basically a small fishing village... Bit like Muddy Pool (Liverpool) was in the 13th Century..

The old part of Dubai,, Deira by the creek, dosen't exist anymore,, only a few buildings remain.

Liverpool in the 1930's

Hi all.

Hi DXB.
Any more info on handovers, dates, or landscaping completion ?

Here are some elevator drawings for different areas and uses.
Also an interesting drawing showing the fire and life safety plan for level 42 area of refuge. It gives a good indication of the scope of the safety planning required for the whole structure.

Hi Fury,

From your diagrams I would say Tier 1-4 are in the process of being handed over.. as on most of the floors at this height there are some 20+ units per floor so its going to take a while.... from what I gather they look like their doing it floor by floor - instead of the final payment way like normal.

Will post more info when I have it.
