I will rephrase my question. If I were to draw a red circle around the current footprint of the Burj Dubai, what would be the diameter of that circle (this circle only goes around the tower, not around the buildings and the underground areas)?

I ask for the diameter because I am trying to find the area of that circle. But I would also be interested to know what the area of the base of the tower is; if anyone knows that.

Thank you.
Sorry, did I do a fly-by?

Simply put it's diameter is 91.4m

The circle you've outlined is 74m in diameter as it's only the central (much thicker) part of foundation mat which is shown which bares most of the weight.

However, multiplying the diameter of the base (91.4m) by Pi (3.14) will not give you the area of the footprint as the footprint is not a circle.

If you tell me what you wish to know, maybe I can help a bit more?

Sharjah is approx. 10km from Dubai, which means very close. It is one of the 7 emirates in UAE.

Yes it is a different city, a different Emirate, with a different ruler and a different set of rules ... but the two are almost merged.

From these responses, I am inducing that if a cirlce was drawn around the true footprint of the Burj Dubai, the circle's diameter would be around 183.7 metres (602.7 feet) (I averaged the diameters given by Sky Tower and cooperchris). This would mean the circle's area (Pi * r^2) is 26,503.8 sq m (285,284.6 sq ft).

Is that right?

Amazing shot, but is it always this quiet in the streets or is it a quiet part of the day?
I definitely hope for the 2nd option..
