Russia tower? That thing hasn't even started construction, you might as well put the chicago spire up there too if your including proposals. While your at it throw 1wtc up there because thats about half way done and going to be taller than the sears tower.

He's referring to the Russian tower completed in 1967. You must have missed his 39 thousand post count.

That's 8 towers over 500 meters. Now has come the time to make a new category of skycraper: hypertall.

Hi Cul.
Nice list man - 3 things:
1 - Since we're talking about height to tip and rounding to nearest meter then BK = 830 (829.842).
2 - Ostankino Tower = 540 (I don't believe they renamed it to Russia Tower ?).
3 - Taipai 101 = 509.

Frick I'm **** ...

Edit:
3 more vids from the top of the pinnacle from Mick Flaherty posted today.
They are months old for sure but still cool. I have 2 already from him that I dated June 2010 - I'll date these the same (probably close but actual date unknown - they could be older).

guaporense. yeah i mentioned this last year. 300m towers dont excite me anymore. i actually dont even look at new threads. BUT i will checkout 500m+ new skyscrapers.
we need a 500m+ category asap. its too crowded on supertall section. waaaay to many to look at.

I don't think there's going to be anything done for the 1 year anniversary.

Currently the guys from Groupe F (French pyrotechnics who did the fireworks for the inauguration) are installing flame throwers in the lake around the fountain.

Yes, you read that right.

Show is going to run for a month, starting on January 18th.

No no, there's a difference between saying something "is shit" and saying something "is the shit". They mean polar opposites.

Hi Chris.
As Gerald posted I don't expect any hoopla on Jan 4 either. New years I do expect some. Not for the Burj but for the holiday. I'm not holding my breath for some hoopla for completion of the whole of the works either. For some reason Emaar wants the general public to think inauguration day was the grand opening like the project was fully completed and I don't expect that to change. The only press releases have been about handovers and occupancy so perhaps there will be articles released when the handovers are completed and when the structure is fully occupied. Those milestones would be good to know (if they even release that info) but I would also prefer the fully completed milestone to be heralded.

Hi Gerald.
That should be cool. Water, lights, music ... - and fire ...
