Well, still a great job. Looking forward to your other pictures. The tower itself is truly outstanding. This tower will be the highest for quite some time.

Wow, but I think he meant on land. I am sure it can be seen from quite the distance away like maybe, 10 km away?

We had a lot of conversations on this issue here in old posts (some of them are from 2009) that how far away can we see Burj Khalifa. The sure is that from all areas of the city of Dubai, including suburbs (i know from a lot of photos here, in flickr etc) BK is visible even in great distance.

Oh okay, thanks for the info. I guess that is quite the distance. You can literally see the Burj Khalifa from anywhere in Dubai, based on what was said above.

Dubai opens world’s highest restaurant

At.mosphere is situated on the 122nd floor of Burj Khalifa at a height of just over 442 metres

Burj Khalifa opens world’s highest restaurant (Chandra Balan)

Quote:
That the high life is lived in Dubai is now a literal truth.

Residents of and visitors to Dubai will have another reason to visit the world’s tallest building as of this week, when the world’s highest restaurant in a manmade development opens at the Burj Khalifa.

Called At.mosphere, it is situated on the 122nd floor of the already iconic tower. At a height of just over 442 metres, it is situated two floors below At The Top, the building’s observation deck.

Previously, the world’s highest restaurant was 360, at a height of 350 metres in Toronto’s CN Tower.

Marc Dardenne of Emaar Hospitality, told Emirates247.com via email that the new restaurant, which he described as a grill and lounge concept, would open its doors before the end of January. However, sources have since revealed it will be unveiled on January 23.

No poor jokes about getting high, please!

My life in the Burj Khalifa: the insider's story

Mahi Golchin-Depala on what it’s like to have friends drop by and the secret Dubai Mall passageway

By Parag Deulgaonkar | Published Thursday, January 20, 2011

Mahi lives on the 98th floor and says selling any of the multiple apartments she owns is not an option. (DENNIS B MALARI)

Quote:
One year ago when Burj Khalifa launched as the world’s tallest tower, at over 828 metres (2,716.5 feet) and more than 160 stories, it rose like a phoenix from among the ashes of a global economic burnout.

While property prices around the world and in the UAE took a beating, the fountains in front of the iconic structure seemed to drench the imagination of visitors with strange ideas of who actually lived in the Burj Khalifa.

Were they only royals? Were they magnates and billionaires whose identities would never be revealed? Were the houses all empty?

As we approached the tower, we were stopped at the entrance where a guard verified our details, the car plate number and allowed us access. The valet – a service offered complementary to all residents and guests – then takes over.

As we walk through the huge, impressive lobby, marked by a unique drum-cymbal decor, we get past the glass doors, which can be opened only with an access card, and take the lift to the 76nd floor. There one has to change lifts to go higher.

Now, for the first time, we take you inside two of the homes at the Burj Khalifa.

Emirates 24|7 met with two residents – one living on the 98th floor and one on the 92th. While one is owner, one rents.

Both the residents this website spoke to were women and while they were understandably guarded about opening their very private homes and lives to the media, they genuinely thrilled about living at one of the most exclusive addresses in the world.

Mahi Golchin-Depala is Group Communications Director,
Gulf Film and Grand Cinemas, and Managing Director, Phars Film. She is of Iranian nationality. She owns a three-bedroom apartment on the 98th floor. Here are excerpts from an interview with her.

102.77km to the horizon if looking from the tip of the pinnacle, on the clearest day.

Yeah ... if the atmosphere would be non-existing and the terrain perfectly flat

I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but there are two many pages to look for it

BBC has posted a trailer for its new documentary about the human race (it's called "Human Planet"). The trailer is worth looking by itself. At around 1m31s you can see the Burj Dubai in a jawdropping fashion. This is great to showcase the building among those who are not so aware of it as us. Have a look at it here:
