Okay, thanks for the information. That is quite a distance. If it is in Singapore, you can see it in Malaysia.

Hi all.

Corrected.

Good articles Paris.

The 2 residents they talk to are well up in the luxury residences (area 5). One says word is that full occupancy will be in 2013. This sounds consistant with what we're seeing - somewhere around 15 % occupancy now.

I wonder now if the residence areas and indeed the entire scope of the works is complete ? Level 92 and 98 are well above the lowest levels of the luxury residences (level 77 to 108). The boutique offices will most likely be fitout only when leased so the tenants can get things the way they want them.

Anyone in the know or anyone in Dubai and have seen workers or work being performed, have any comment on whether or not this project is fully completed ?

Ray.

Why renting a Burj Khalifa apartment is just ‘Mumtaz'

For this tenant it’s all about location, location, location… that and the view

Under the name of Cantonnet, this lady rents an apartment in the tallest tower in the world. (Dennis B Mallari)

Emirates 24|7 met with two residents – one living on the 98th floor and one on the 92nd. While one is owner, one rents.

The second resident we met chose to only give us the name Cantonnet. She said her company, which is a design firm is called Cantonnet & Cantonnet. She is of American nationality. She rents her apartment. Excerpts from the interview.

Second one.

Thanks Ray!

Still a work in progress imo. I don't think the entire works are completed here yet. Maybe at 90%? Could be wrong, but that's the feeling I get anyway. This was always going to take years to fully complete and to have full occupancy.

It's one of the true wonders of the world now.

Great shot.

In front of the Burj - what are those two blue buildings? I've always wondered and who designed them...in my opinion, they are up there as the nicest buildings in Dubai

Rain does not brings the temperatures down by more then a few degrees. Not in this geographical location ... and the air now is not hot to begin with.

Dinner at Burj Khalifa will be steep at At.mosphere

Quote:
Armina Ligaya | Last Updated: Jan 23, 2011

For diners at the world's highest restaurant, due to open today in the Burj Khalifa, the bill will be as stratospheric as the setting.

Patrons will be expected to spend a minimum of Dh450 (US$122.52) a head for dinner at At.mosphere Grill & Lounge on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa, according to the reservations hotline.

Lunch featuring an "eclectic European cuisine" will cost at least Dh300, while those who want to sit in the lounge for drinks or snacks will need to spend a minimum of Dh200 per person.

At.mosphere is "a one of a kind restaurant located in the world's tallest building" and the prices "reflect the superior lifestyle experience awaiting guests", said a spokesman for Emaar Hospitality Group, which runs the restaurant.

Emaar expects the location, which its has billed as the highest restaurant in the world and which overlooks Dubai and the waters of the Gulf, to be its prime attraction.

"Given the location of At.mosphere, at a height of 442 metres in the world's tallest building, we expect a steady flow of visitors," the spokesman said. "The restaurant is already almost fully booked for the first week after opening."

As of yesterday afternoon, the dinner service At.mosphere was fully booked for January 23 and 24, apart from cancellations. The restaurant is due to open for lunch guests from next Tuesday, its reservations clerk said.

Emaar plans to apply to Guinness World Records to recognise it as the world's highest restaurant, the spokesman added.

The restaurant and lounge occupy about 1,030 square metres and can host more than 210 diners. At.mosphere is two floors below Burj Khalifa's observation deck, called At The Top.
