WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This perspective is absolutely amazing. You're already in the "sky" but you're still looking up to see the top of the building.

Holy shit Fury. I think I just came. When I see pictures like that, I can't believe this tower is real. Thank you so much for finding those and posting them. Wow.

I knew all along how huge this thing is but these ariels put it in new perspective - either getting really close or have a great zoom lens (or both)!. They are just absolutely sickening in a good way for us skyscraper fans and so THANK YOU for getting or shooting those! I shiver with excitement just understanding how darned high this will be in the end.

For anyone in the States, I was just explaining to my mom that you basically are still going to be placing the Detroit Marriott center tower of the Renaissance Center (around 235 meters high and the tallest building in Detroit) ON TOP of this structure to get the final height! Well, close enough for her to understand that without grasping meters as well as we do here

Amazing. Absolutely amazing.

WOW!!
Breathtaking Photos!!
Thanks for Sharing
Just looking at the 3rd photo there, it seems as if they have already completed the 2nd level of the steel structure and have commenced construction on the 3rd level.
However, the last zoomed in pic shows that only 1 level of steel has been completed.
This is starting to get annoying now. More progress please!!

Last time I saw an awesome aerial update on the Burj was like March or way back. Well done. I agree 110% with FM 2258 the perspective is spectacular, especially being able to see straight through the upper floors!

Hi all.

Appreciate the comments. I really haven't had the time to post as much as I used to but I thought you guys would like those shots. I will try to post more if at all possible. My hats off to all the photogs.

I see the first entrance is really taking shape. Level 156 is looking like it must be getting close to a concrete pour - not quite but close. Level 157 is starting to get a few vertical pieces - nice. And the cladding is coming along - looking good.

This thing is unreal to most people I talk to. They just can't fathom 156 floors. And when they hear 1/3 more to go thet are just floored. We are witnessing a new era for tall structures. AWESOME !!!

I can hardly wait to see what that shot will look like when everything is completed and all tenants and residents move in. It would make a fantastic night picture of sparkling lights.

Does anyone know the actual square footage of space in the building?

I know it's a little off topic, but I thought people might enjoy reading this

Quote:
Dubai declares national holiday for Bush visit

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- President Bush on Monday got a flavor of this cosmopolitan banking and business hub, whose glass skyscrapers and booming construction have turned it into the capital of Middle East bustle.

Now back to the topic at hand.... So how tall is this baby now? Surely over 600m? And how come they take so long to put up each steel level? Is there an engineering reason for the reduction in speed of construction of new levels?

Rain in winter in Dubai is not rare, mate... It might not rain as much as it does in Europe, but rain in winter is a common occurance.
