+1. This building looks so much better from a distance where you can see the true perspective/proportions.

Too many shots of this building are upward-tilted-close-proximity shots which result in huge perspective distortion.

I also think its better to shoot horizontal rather than vertical to make the subject look more stable/balanced Vertical/diagonal shots could also look good depending on the composition.

Hi all.

Hi Imre.

Great stuff. I like the elevator panel shots for some reason - a numbers thing for me I guess ...
The fit and finish looks good. The floor to ceiling windows add an interesting view not normally seen in places other than the Burj.
I will wait to add these to my collection untill you make a Picasa album - always more shots there to enjoy.

Hi Gerald.
The skyscraper museum in New York also has some great stuff to see.
Is that your 30 foot print ?

What is going to be build on the plot in the middle of the three empty plots, the site where two towers are rising? Any information what will be build on the other plots, are there already proposals/approvals? Thanks!

The 2 towers are the Standpoint Residences , ON HOLD now.

The empty plots there: Burj Park,M Towers,The Grand Boulevard,18 Burj Dubai Boulevard etc.. launch was in 2007-2008 but nothing has happened , probably will be ON HOLD for years ..or will be cancelled soon and going to be park there or similar..

@Imre (or anyone else): Do you know for what purpose are those "dams" in the water?

i kinda like the idea of it being a twin structure. looks great, but Burj Khalifa is already dominating the skyline, as a twin structure it would dominate it even stronger

Maybe solving an elevation problem on that particular area.

Hi all.

I see in one of the articles Paris posted that The Club isn't open yet. The Club is the name of the 4 level health and wellness annex known as the pool annex during construction. The article stated it will open soon.

I haven't heard any info on The Offices but I'm pretty sure it also isn't open yet. The Offices is the 12 level office annex known, not surprisingly, as the office annex during construction.

Based on the info we get on occupancy (few and far between) I'm guessing the units are around 20 to 25 % occupied. One from Oct last year stated Emaar had handed over 45 % at that time and another from the same month stated 75 units occupied (8 % of the 900). I think I read another more recent stating 15 % occupancy.

An article in Jan stated full occupancy won't be untill 2013. I think they were referring to the residence units. As for the office space I haven't heard any tenant info at all. We get no info on a date for the completion of the whole of the works at all. I don't think it is fully completed yet but it's gotta be close - perhaps this quarter or maybe the next. I'm sure the residence areas and all the restaurants are finished and the work is being done on the office area and the 2 annexes.

It is really pretty good to be fully occupied only a couple years after completion (we all know inauguration was not completion here) in this economic climate (if the 2013 date rings true). Looking forward to more info on these items.

A way of having a water feature on a slope. They also create pleasant white noise and even help put some humidity into the air.
