Hi all.

Hi Altin.

Thanks for the shots.
I see they're running one or more of the spotlights up in section 21A.
How often do they turn those on ?
Is there something special going on ?

Ray.

It's easy to live in Dubai without a car. Taxis are plentiful and cheap.

Who knows? But I think it could be for a long time. Would another country or company spend that kind of money? In a few decades China (and India) will likely exhaust their appetite for uber-tall buildings, just like the USA has for most part. And sooner or later oil rich states might become more conscious about how they spend their money and start preparing for a post-petroleum future.

Hi Ray,

The pictures were taken just before midnight on Friday. I have seen those lights on a number of times so I believe it happen quite often. I also have the feeling that those other times might have also been late at night, so maybe there's pattern.

GeraldB and 234sale might have a better idea.

I've seen them turned on at 11:45pm on a number of occassions at weekends, and they seem to run until midnight.

Occassionally, they are on earlier in the evening as well, but I'm not aware of any descernable pattern.

Better if you have , not a big luxury to own or rent a car in Dubai.

My full tank petrol cost is just 60 dhs so around 16 usd and enough for 400-450 km

You have a 35 litters tank? Did you switch to a Yaris or what?
