They want over 1300 bucks for a nut and bolt like the ones used in construction.
I wonder how many people are gonna be stupid enough to pay for that.
And what's the betting they'll be selling bags of sand and cement next?

How long is the bolt?
If it is a meter long that might explain the price.

Hi DXB.

A few questions if I may ...

1 - Any idea if the residence handovers are complete ?
2 - Are you living in the BK now ?
3 - Any idea if 'The Club' (annex) is open ?
4 - Any idea if the boutique offices and 'The Offices' (annex) are ready ?

I ask these to determine if (in your opinion) the whole of the works are complete.

Ray.
Hi Ray,

They are still doing handovers in the building, plenty of owners still making payments and Emaar issuing completion certificates, I would think quite a few wouldn't be able to pay the last installment so there will be extensions and plenty of meetings with Emaar to get it resolved.

Mine has been rented for 4-5 months now, No word or email from the tenant so I can only suggest things are ok in there (touch wood!).

Last time I was there, the small supermarket / shop is open to the left of the main entrance.

I think some offices have been opened, the annex offices I don't know about, but last time I was there I saw quite a few contractors and fit out companies coming and going, I think a lot of the offices are being built and designed now.

"The Club" is still not open ( as far as I'm aware) I asked a while ago and they said "a couple of months" - I think we can all agree that means next year!!

Plenty of tenants have moved in now, but I would still suggest that around 50% maybe more of the building is vacant, Owners are trying to get as much as they can but I think its pretty futile when a tenant has so much choice these days. I got mine rented as quickly as I could and took the first offer.

I had asked that and before: how many people now live, work in Burj Khalifa? In those completed units...

Hi all.

Hi DXB.
Thanks for the info.
Wow - so it's looking like a possibility of 2 years from inauguration untill completion. I was getting set to call this project complete - I will remain patient instead...

Hi Chris.
As per DXB's observations, 50 % of 1044 units (I'm including the Armani residences) = 522 occupied. You can decide what the average number of occupants per unit is. (3 - ?). As for people working the BK I would venture the number is at, or very close to, zero.

Ray.

Thats what they do here Ray, the open something up, but technically its not really open, but it is??

They cut corners so that owners start paying service charges as soon as they can before all the "services" of the building are even in place.

Fury, there is no '3 person' in average per apartments in the tower. I doubt there would even be more then just a few of them who would have that much people living. Most would be 1 - 2 max, and I'm not even including studio-apartmentw here.

The average would work out to 1.6 maybe less. Not to many studios, but 1 beds are far more popular and would make up most of the mean average. 2 and 3 beds are occupied but there are only say 4-6 a floor with 1 beds taking up the rest.
