Another great article of Burj Khalifa this time from Hungary, it says 124 floors and 828 m

A világ jelenleg legmagasabb tornya a Burj Khalifa, amely Dubai területén áll. A 124 emeletes, 828 méter magas épület közel 300 métert vert rá a korábbi rekordmagas toronyházra, a tajvani Taipei-101-re.

Living here is getting more and more enjoyable. Direct access into the mall is very convenient. Parhing is easy as at the moment as can park in any available spot. The dancing fountains are amazing to watch each time. Residents lounge on 123 is great. Swimming pools are too small.

DJ Azari used the Burj Dubai for the cover of his recent album.

Hi all.

I made a construction slideshow folder with monthly pics from 05 04 to 09 10.

Here is pic # 1.

05 04 27

The core is divided into 3 areas - C1, C2, and C3.
The raft was poured in 04 09 and was curing for 7 months before they formed the first core walls of C1.
They did that first pour on 05 04 16. The first pour is 5.25 meters high and are for the 2.05 meter high, unused raft level and the 3.2 meter high level B2 - done in one pour.
In the shot we see the core walls of C1 with the forms removed facing us. They are working on the forms and rebar for C2 (on the right) and C3 is next. They have the first forms for the 4.0 meter high level B1 core walls up in C1. They will pour level B1 in one pour.

The floor-plate looks small. I guess I'm missing the real scale.

Yes you are .... however, the outter section of the wings were build outside the raft with separate piling foundations, so it is actually bigger.

Hi all.

Hi Marco.
The raft is approx. 2800 square meters. As Altin posted, the base tiers extend out past the raft. The media has widely touted the size of the raft at 8000 sq. m. but that is the size of the levels of Base 1 not including the podium.

Hi Baptiste.
The Armani residences are on levels 9 to 16.

Here is pic #2 from my construction slideshow folder. The pics aren't a slideshow per se, that's just what I named the folder. I wanted to have a monthly set of shots showing the external view of the construction. The first shots are from the same angle, later they are from different angles.

I don't know who the photogs are unless they watermarked their shot - sorry. With over 71,000 pics in my burj pics folder it would have been too formidable of a task to record all the photogs. Since I have no intention on making any money from my collections I figured it would be OK.

I will also include a link to the full size image when applicable as some are very large - and a small commentary.

05 05 12

They are doing the first 5.25 meter high pour of C3 core walls. They are forming for level B1 of C1 core walls (the second level we see in the shot). They are also working on the rebar of wing C on the right side in the shot.

PS - I added commentary for pic #1 above.

I guess the July '05 pic might be mine. Clear overview of the site from the East, taken from the roof of Chelsea Tower.

Hi guys.
The plans call levels 19 to 37 'hotel residences'. Levels 9 to 16 are the 'Armani residences'.
All the residences are apartments :
- Residential zone 1 - levels 9 to 16 - Armani residences
- Residential zone 2 - levels 19 to 37 - hotel residences
- Residential zone 3 - levels 44 to 72 - residences
- Residential zone 4 - levels 76 to 108 - luxury residences
The plans show level 76 as luxury residential as well as skylobby and amenities.

Hi Altin.
I do have those excellent shots from you but I chose another for the July addition to the folder. I think I remember it was from a forumer who would climb the sand hill that was close to the site for a time.

Here is shot #3 from my construction slideshow folder.

5 06 12

The forms are up for the first pour of the concourse level on C1 - on the right in the shot (the third level we see). The concourse was poured in 2 steps, a 4.0 meter pour first then a 2.0 meter pour on top of that. The other 2 core areas (C2 and C3) are still formed for level B1. Wings C and B are now being formed for B1 with wing A (facing us) next. Wing A faces SZR. The forms are up into the first of the Base 0 levels, above the 3 Lower levels (Raft, B2, and B1). Deceiving, but the top of the poured wall under the highest forms is 13.25 meters above the raft and 8.0 meters high as per the official CTBUH measure.

Hi all.

Hi Baptiste.

None that I know of besides the Armani residences are furnished with his minimalist style. The names are just what the plans refer to the different zones as.

DXB or Imre may know of some differences.
