It's nice looking back at the early photo's. Because the Tower is still on the under construction Thread. Does anyone have photo's of construction that's still going on now?

Hi charles.
I don't think there are any working links to many of the early threads.
This is thread # 30. The first 2 span the foundation stage. The third thread is from the time of the first pic of this series I'm doing. Thread 9 has the date of this posts pic. This series from my construction slideshow shows the core progress - no ?

Hi Dave.
The only construction happening now is interior work on the 2 annexes and the office zone so unless a worker is willing to brave the consequences and take some shots we won't see any of the current work. One indicator of all the work completed will be the opening of the health annex (The Club). Since it will be open to the public we will hear news on that at least.

Here is pic #8 from my construction slideshow folder.

05 11 26

The core is formed for the second pour of levels 16, 17, and 18. Those 3 levels are 4.8, 5.3, and 4.3 meters high respectively and were poured in four 3.6 meter high pours. The wings are formed for the walls of level 9. The core has its protection barrier in place so we can't tell exactly where the floor the slabs are formed to. That barrier will remain untill the top of the concrete section is reached. Wing C on the right is formed for the floor slabs of level 4.

The core has grown another 4 levels in the last month as it did in the previous 2 months.
The top of the core walls are 74.4 meters high as per the official CTBUH measure.

One more Moon shot.

It's incredibly difficult to correctly expose for both the Moon and the Burj in a single shot.

The other problem is that at this focal length (600mm on a 1.29x crop sensor), even just a 1 second exposure is too long due to the Moon moving through the shot.

/edit

Yuck. Had no idea how crap that looked. Will fix it and replace!

Fixed. Ish.

If you're still seeing the old crap, flush your cache!

Hi all.

Here is shot #9 from my construction slideshow folder.

05 12 16

The core is formed for the walls of level 20 and the wings for level 15. Levels 7 to 18 are in tier 0 with 17 and 18 as MEP levels.

Levels 19 to 24 are 3.2 meters high, each done in one pour. They are the first levels of residential zone 1 - named the hotel levels in the plans. They are in tier 1.

The core has risen another 3 and a half levels last month.
The top of level 20 walls are 88.0 meters high as per the official measure.

Here is page 12 of my plan to help illustrate.

Hi all.

Here is pic #10 from my construction slideshow folder.

06 01 06 - Taken by AltinD

The highest core walls are formed for level 22. They have risen 2 levels since the last shot. The wings are formed for level 16.

The highest wing slabs we can see are formed for the floor of level 8. This is the last shot before the protective barriers were put up on the wings. Like the core barriers already up, they will climb as the floor slabs are worked on.

For the last 5 months there have been 3 construction lifts running (one on each wing, set up next to the core). The first of the two double lifts is being set up between the core and the first wall of wing C on the right. They will be the main lifts from the ground untill the permanent interior lifts were ready to be used for construction (many months).

The top of level 22 walls are 94.4 meters high as per the official CTBUH measure.

Well, outside looks absolutely complete but in the interior and especially in the upper levels they may still working on the last details (painting, furniture, lights etc).

Why is this thread still here? C'mon you are reposting old U/C pictures from '05. Lets call a spade a spade and move this to the archive section. BTW I love the Burj!!!

Yeah me to, but man this thread is getting ridiculous lately If we want to wait for all interiors works to finish we as well may never move this thread. And truth is that if it was any other tower it would be moved to archive year or two ago. And now we start posting pics from the beginning again ?

Also it seems mods are confused too since this is the thread with completed status in its title in the U/C forum.
