Great fireworks display. Are there any interior pictures from offices/apartments above the observation deck?

If I were rich I'd get the 160th floor boutique office and use it as a place to chill and relax.

This smart phone thing has gotten totally out of hand.

Everyone is so busy taking photos and video that they are not watching LIFE they are watching a SCREEN.

It's the opposite of Be Here Now.

Maybe this trend will play out in a decade or so when people return to living life rather than documenting it.

Are people actually inside the building during the fireworks? Since there is a hotel, apartments etc... It would be annoying to be forced to get out just for the fireworks especially if you paid for that penthouse unit..

Many people inside the Khalifa during fireworks.

Last year it was great when residents were told to just go down when they wanted to a section of the park with direct route from the side, and view from there without any hassle. This year the access was closed and residents were told to get to the park they had to get there very early and walk all the way around the Boulevard and enter the park from between the Residences - which is quite a walk. The section of the park used by Khalifa residents last year was blocked for a 'VIP' visit according to several staff, but did not see anyone and the whole section was blocked off and left empty!

As with most large events crowd control was a bit of a problem, but especially when many staff were not well informed. With all people on the park after the fireworks first told to exit one way [ near the residences buildings 7/8] and then when everyone was standing waiting to exit for a long time, all told to exit exactly the other way and exit past the building site I guess near Opera House site. Bit dangerous for children and older people with all the pushing etc.

Anyway the fireworks were good especially with many other surrounding buildings with fireworks also eg, off the address, residences etc.

As we got home saw many guests etc coming out of the Khalifa and they said they had a nice time from inside

Awesome!

But this isn't supposed to happen, is it?

Weird enough: when I actually wanted to upload the download that looks like this directly onto imageshack to show it to you, it appeared fine (so I didn't upload it). When I try to use it as a background this happens too. Also when I open it with for example paint.

Very nice picture, much better than my amateur pictures looking up at the Khalia from ground level. Next year I think I will try to get into Residence building as it seemed that had a really good view too.

I remember the Launch Party with Imre, AltinD, Greald B and Dubaiflo,, to far away to shoot it properly.

That smoke that came off the fireworks was rubbish,, will have to have a word with work.

Best place, really,, Index

I have always seen these photos and wish i could be there one day and cherish that moment. I had been to Paris and the fire work there was also breath taking. I will soon plan to visit this magnificent structure and talk to clouds.

Eat Out: Cafes galore on MBR Boulevard

Even if you are an avid follower of restaurant news, you may be hard pushed to keep up with the openings along Emaar Boulevard these days. In the space of a few weeks, dozens of outlets have emerged from behind hoardings to sell everything from traditional Lebanese (Leila) to Irish (Bennigans) and American (Hollywood Burger). But lets focus on this weeks simultaneous openings at the far end of the road that encircles Downtown, just opposite the Fashion Avenue entrance of the mall, and at the foot of Burj Khalifa. Two cafes, two very different ends of the coffee spectrum.
