It's impressive how the SZR skyscrapers look like a ,,fog-wall" on this picture.

Thanks for the weather-updates in april!
I'm only going a couple of hours to Dubai. I have to make a transit at the airport. I land at 4:30 (am) and my next plane takes off at 14:30.
Does anyone know some good spots where I can make photos of BD? I myself have 3 spots in mind. See the red dots on the pictures. I want to go to the Emirates Towers (also for photos) and then have a walk along Sheikh Zayed Road to the BD. But I don't think there are good pedestrian facilities. And how do I cross the road? Is there only one bridge for pedestrians (east of the Emirates Towers)? And is from 8:00 am till 11:00 am a good time to go?

Obvously clouds, but you're joking right, low pollution city? Depends on the type of pollution though. Less dirty diesel, less coal, less particulate from 70s cars, but what about SOx and NOx CO2 from the millions of cars stuck in jams! There's also little public transport, so I love the monorail on the Palm though, though they could be a symbol for the world and put them all through the city!
Technically as cement is one of the most energy intensive products the Burj Dubai and Dubai in general are higly polluting!
I read cement making around the World produces more CO2 than all of the Worlds cars! I think it's something to do with baking all the moisture out? But hey this aint' the right thread for that!

umm......

From: http://www.dubaiairport.com/dubaimet/MET/Climate.aspx (bottom of the page)

September

As temperatures begin to fall after the height of the summer there is a sting in the tail for residents of coastal cities. Sea temperatures reach a peak at the end of August and it is therefore during this time that the potential for warm, humid air to be advected to the coast reaches a maximum. September is far from being the most humid month but it has the highest humidity of the hot summer months. For this reason September is extremely humid and is one of the months with a high occurrence of fog. Night time temperatures begin to drop into the upper 20’s °C and fog will often form in the early morning hours. Maximum temperatures can still occasionally reach extremes of 45°C with extreme minimum’s around 22°C. Sea temperatures begin to fall later in the month with the mean for the month of around 32°C.

---------
There is also lots of info there about average min/max temps, sea min/max temps, sunlights hours. etc. etc... above is just for September there is lots of info for the other months as well...

So please remember........ Google is your friend

Cheers,

Tom

i don't know, but dubai is more like a "try to prove their economic strength" city.
i don't see where the point of the need of bussiness there.
is it really necessary to build a building that high?
i mean, are they trying to beat the shit out of new york city??

The red points are not good, the sun would be right in your face. Buildings and roads would also block your view.
Try the green area for some pictures.

Yeah they are mate, they just woke up one morning and thought lets spend $90 billion on cunstructing really big and pointless buildings just so we can "beat the shit" out of new york.
