Official height?

I don't know if it's too early with the steel construction to ask this, but with the first floor done I wonder if it's surpassed the 2000 ft mark? Or an estimate after the second floor??.

I also cannot see how all these office buildings are going to be filled up with businesses.
By the way, the skyscraper wall shows how air flow is severely disrupted. Should there be a fire somewhere and the smoke travels towards the wall they're doomed.

Anyway, nice pics!!!!

Of course architecture can be religious in some cases, and the Burj Dubai is actually designed around Islamic patterns and shapes just like the Petronas towers for example. Im glad they designed BD with some Islamic forms, after all it is in an Islamic country.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic...y_architecture
The Lighthouse is also mentioned on that article. "Viewed from above or from the base, the form also evokes the onion domes of Islamic architecture." That quote is taken from BD wikipedia.

Wow, as many pages in this thread as there are floors on the Burj Dubai.

That cladding is really going up fast. Now I just wonder how they will clad the steel section when it comes time. Slowly and carefully I would imagine.

How many people have died during the work with Burj Dubai?

I read somewhere that one worker dies everyday in Dubai.

You are absolutly wrong, what country would allow any project to have a safety record of one fatality per day. are you nuts?????????

There has been one in total since the project started.
