Newbies are highly advised to read the thread beforehand and avoid spamming with off-topic nonsense or asking for info already posted.

How does it compare?

Howdy. I am brand new to this forum but have watched the BD grow from its foundation back in 2004 to the magnificient (yet uncompleted) structure it is today.
Unfortunately, like many of us who visit this forum, it is unlikely I will be able to travel to Dubai in the next 5yrs or so to see this historic structure.
So this is what I propose to those of you with good photoshop skills: with all the outstanding photos we have of this building to date, could any of you place this history-making building (at this time of development) in other cities with high-rises (Shanghai, Chicago, Taipei, HK, etc) so the rest of us can truly understand just how massive this structure is?
I have been to the WTC and Taipei 101 (my wife is Taiwanese) and have been awe-struck by these skyscrapers.
Thanks all for your attention.

Im brand new but I can't remember how long I've been following this tower. I think since it was around 9 or 10 stories.

Anyway I would like to see that too.

O and by way of anticipation I found the red pepper and his carrot friend. THX

That has been actually done by forumers, and there are renderings of Burj Dubai integrated intoo Manhatan, Chicago and Hong Kong skylines, either in this thread or the one before.

You don't have to worry about parking spaces. With the prices you have to pay for an apartment in the tower you can expect at least 1 parking place for your limousine.

Just a rough idea:
Taipei 101 comparison:

BD in Chicago:

BD in NYC:

London comparison:

Hope that's gave you an idea on the scale of BD

I just had to delete about 20 posts of spammy, off-topic nonsense.

Please stay on topic, and post something relevant or meaningful, otherwise this thread may be temporarily locked.

Thanks! When you see floorplans of the other supertalls you see how creative, innovative and original the Burj Dubai is! Impressive!

About the section of the spire, the image came at the right moment because I was just wondering how tall the part that will be jacked up is going to be..? Or are they going to make it floor by floor and jack it up piece by piece? So what's the plan for that?

Time to talk about this stuff, I hope
