Hi all.

Hey Sky - how you doin. Was hopin for some more good stuff to sift through.

I will take some screenshots tomorrow of the levels to 160 Mezz. 3 - Just on my old laptop right now. I don't have a complete set but I have scoured all the blueprints I have and they show a large water tank used for hot and cold water but nothing about a dampener. I guess the tank could double as one but nothing said. I have not so much as a mention about a dampener.

I know Cul has some newer prints that are different than what I have. Perhaps he could take some screenshots as well and with the ones I will post we can get a better picture. Also perhaps Sky has some prints or info that both Cul and I don't and between the 3 of us posting up some stuff we will all become more informed.

Above 162 I assume the spire interior will just be unfinished, just exposed steel, ladder or stairs, etc...

well the 819m plans show Tier 22 is the highest occupied floor level. thats 701m, then above that will probably exposed steel, stairs, etc

I was watching bits of it live on TV and the wind speed within the course was 11 MPH. Needless to saay the players weren't pleased, Tiger Woods seamed pissed off actually, even that he ended the second day in the lead, after South Africa's Otto had some of his final shots ends up in water due to the wind.

I feel so proud that I am witnessing the construction and rise of this magnificent builgind...I clearly remember when this project was announced and I saw the renders believing that such a complex was just a vision.

And now we're all able to behold it as an almost finished product. It would be impossible without the great effort many forumers make to keep us all around the world informed.

BTW: I love those Teddy Bear Shots, they look a lot like one Teddy I bought at Harrod's in London.

yes, but that doesn't need to mean that someone lives there or has his office-room on this floor. occupied can also mean it is just used

look for the term TSD on the plans......i've seen it mentioned many times on the burj plans ;TSD stands for Tuned Sloshing Damper and is there to counteract wind sway. see Detail 1 of sheet AL-00-SR-171 ; )

Whats 50 Year Wind Event? And that looks like terrible drift for a slender building such as the BD.

An extreme wind force that is only expected to happeen once in every 50 years. Theres a complicated calculation related to regional annual wind speed averages.

The BD movement in this case is calculated at only 1.45 metre maximum, thats not really a large movement for a building of that height.
