The spire will probably move more. But this is not important because noone ever comes there (only repair people). Think the results are pretyy accurate. Probably the results are wore than the building will ever move. I think the results are accurate because of the 3d caclulations. The whole structure is put in 1 calculation. Wich in my oppinion is very accurate.

Im not questionning the figures, I simply feel they are not clear enough. However I just went back and checked and the 1450mm figure is not referring to the tip of the spire which is what I initially thought, its actually the base which is at 739m. So the tip of the spire will in fact move a lot more than 1450mm.

I think the 1450 are the amplitude. So it can sway in a circle of that radius. But because of the dampers it wont sway back the same distance as it has been elongated before.

I still can't believe how much Dubai has grown over the past couple years. Like seriously, think about it, five years ago this was probably like a desert, and now it's probably the fastest growing city EVER. It's amazing. Although I'm still a bigger fan of American cities, etc, Dubai is very interesting, and I can't wait to see the finished projects that are popping up all the time over there.
