Petronas Platform is 640m in height or 2100ft... Not so fast... At least let it overtake the world tallest structure standing now first...

What I believe is... the construction will go on as of now without any on hold...

Sorry guys, just did not find any location for this short question of mine, you can delete this post after someone of you superdubaiguys (haha get it'? super duper ) has answered me

my offTopic question is; http://gizmodo.com/355499/dubai-buil...dge-next-month
Is this supermega bridge project really true? and from the renders I dont see where it should be, close to the Burj? Hope its true, cuz its cool as hell and Dubai is kind of missing a massive bridge to its colossal collection

thanks and sorry again

Nice picture CULWULLA. Is Burj Dubai and most of these new buildings coming up in Dubai supposed to be super energy efficient? I remember seeing a large GE sign with the words "ecomagination" somewhere around Burj Dubai at some point.

I agree with this, but already it was in media when it became the tallest building, so people in Europe know about it, especially if they are interested in architecture...
for example an article on a Croatian internet portal: www.net.hr/kultura/page/2007/07/21/0146006.html
and Palm islands are getting even more media attention because celebrities are buying villas there...

OT: I also find this very impressive:
http://supercarsdubai.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=6
and 50 years ago Dubai was a just trading town on a creek? now it became the jewel of the Arab world, impressive! hope to visit it once, and see Burj Dubai...

it will be completed at the end of 2008?

So I guess that bridge counts as a supertall all by itself then... the Millau Viaduct still kicks it's pre-rendered ass though!

Love that evening light shot of the BD. Those cranes look so tiny on top

Superduber fast reply from a superdudaiguy

That is awesome, thanks Cul for a super prompt and super detailed reply as allways
It looks on the satellite image that the creek just ends all of a sudden, will it be connected to anything? like the lake in BusinessBay?
would be awesome to link all this metropolis together with flowing water, cant wait to look at this bridge from the OBdeck on the Burj (hopefully in 2010)

Yes, the "lake" in business bay will not be a lake but an extension of the creek, which will eventually extend back out to the ocean, effectively turning Dubai into a big island.
