There will be floors in some form or another up until 768m. You could say Tier 27 is the 206th floor. I think we can say if u count all mezzanines of 160 then there will be 162 floors. Mechanical counts whether they are in the middle of the building or on top.

you can see on my diagram, there are approx 40 floors ABOVE lev162. they are accessible by humans and are 3.2m high, which is approx height of a typical residential floor, each floor can be accessed by steel stair case.
i would say the "roof" of Burj Dubai is TIER27 OR 768M HIGH! you can walk up to it and its all enclosed structure. Although the spire starts way down at tier20B, it appears above tier27 which extends over 50m above last enclosed section.
Burj Dubai is a very tricky design. much like Chyrsler Building. the top floor is encased in conce structure and extendable spire also starts in there and extends above conical structure.

Hi all.

Floorcount ... I've heard all kinds of variations ... Here's the poop as of the current plan ...

- 5 lower levels - Raft (not used), B2, B1, Concourse, Ground.
- 108 levels - 1 to 111 - 3 skipped levels - 41, 74, 110.
- 54 levels - 112 to 160 - 155 and 158 each have a mezzanine level so 2 levels each - 160 has 3 mezzanine levels so 4 levels.

So 167 levels total - 166 used - up to and including the first level of tier 18.

Then there is a set of stairs and a landing every 3.2 meters (that could be considered levels) with a terrace at the top of each tier.

- 4 levels to the top of tier 18.
- 24 levels tier 19 to the top of tier 22.

So 195 "levels" to the top of tier 22.

Then there is ladders to the top of the structure with a small landing inside the spire every 9.6 meters, a terrace at the top of each tier up to 26 and a platform at the top (of tier 30).

- 2 levels to the top of tier 23.
- 6 levels tier 24 to the top of tier 29 - 1 each tier.
- 2 levels tier 30 - the platform at the top and one I am presuming 1/2 way up the 21.3 meter tier.

So 205 "levels" total in the entire structure.

What a fantastic structure we get to watch being built. The most levels before this is 118 I think (the WTC twin towers had 5 basement levels, a level 1 intermediate, a level 110 intermediate, and a level 110 upper - I have a complete set of prints for the North tower).

And as of today, at least three of these columns have been joined horizontally as well.

Wow, they have really sped up, it took them less time to do 158 and 158 mezz than just 157. 160 should hopefully start in about a week if they keep the pace up.

i think in the 150;s, you can let floors. Ive also seen a diagram showing tier22 or 701m level (roof4) is highest habitable floor.the reason for stair cases and ladders to upper 40 floors is because its basically a spire structure. So its for maintenance access to the pinnacle structure.

Every skyscraper that's ever been built has at least one top floor that's only accessible by stairs or ladders, if only to house the winching gear for the elevators.

Usually there will also be other floors housing communications equipment (as will be the case here with the BD) and other plant.
