Ok it looks good but there are limits. Limits that the chinese have broken through.

Iff they do build it, let them at least give half off the revenue to Emaar and original architects....

Well, anyway, someone could say that the Americans have done it already ( American copies of various of the world's landmarks are in Las Vegas and elsewere ) but that doesnt mean that this is right. My opinion is that it isnt.

Anyway, i guess i got a bit off topic. Sorry.
Oh the irony! The hilarious, hilarious irony!

Isn't it Dubai that planned a proposal that copied every single one of the world's landmark towers, including an exact copy of the Burj Dubai? Yeah, I believe it was... If people are going to bitch about China or Vegas building copies, let's not forget the city that wants to become king of copies.

AltinD and Old Town Resident have both seen and reported that there are steel beams being installed for the 5th steel floor (level 160). No pictures have been posted of this, but we do have their confirmation that this is indeed taking place.

CULWULLA, I love your diagram. Do you have a full (i.e. from the ground up) version on a different site that you constantly keep up-to-date?

Verily, never has such a svelte obelisk encapsulated aesthetic grandeur of the likes of the aforementioned high eye of Dubai.

Layered partitions of architecture redefined in a classless ideal, epitomizing form and function as a global signature, a time stamp of reckoning, reinvented ideals of bygone empires, now fallen, victims of their own greatness.

Proudness assured to the Emirate, a future global force of good. Benevolent dictatorship in worldwide unison, dominating world economy; vindicating a taxless society, naturally accompanied by free trade.

To all who once mocked, now silenced as the dawning of integrated cultures composes new ideals in a true amalgamation of the pinnacle of human achievement.

Now laid bare for all to see, this monumental effigy, a unique template of modern city living. Limitless imagination without abstract boundaries, nor will to accomplish the impossible.

No it isnt irony.

Las Vegas is all glitter and glamour. They dont take themselves real... Its Vegas man.

And those copies off what dubai is doing is part off a casino like stretch off land ala Vegas...

That chinese ripoff proposal isnt a joke, they take themselves real and are uninspirational idiots who need to steele to make good things.....

Vegas intrinsically evokes the rot of urban evolution.

To my honourable friend above, remarking the truth will be in vain to the vox populi.

Americana virulently abound via this medium in blinded pontification of most things they do not fully comprehend.

Apologies for veering a topic off course, only saddened at the truth abound.

Vouchsafing those who journalize progress is not an option my friend.

May I suggest in lieu you refrain browsing these parts daily, as not to dilute the positive nature of these threads with misguided negative aspirations?

Not bloody likely !

I get 700 to 1100 pics per month of this thing with a good percentage coming from right here.

You should only come here once a month if you only want monthly pics.

Real skyscraper lovers can't get enough of the tallest structure being built by mankind. The journey is almost better than the finished product and through the almost daily pics it is like being right there.

Edit - @ Dettol - - and here here !
